HAPPY GROUND HOG DAY 2013

GRADY  SAYS IT'S OFFICIAL .....
We have 6 more weeks of winter weather coming. Grady lives in Chimney Rock,NC.
Nibbles (hence the gloves??!!)  lives at the Nature Center in Asheville,NC and also saw his shadow this morning.
Only time will tell if  these guys get it right !!

Today has definitely felt winter like. I dressed in layers this morning going to market as it is ususlly cold in that old cement block building after a really cold night. It was 20 degrees when I got up and the high today struggled to reach 40.
Had a slow market day but am thankful for what I did sell. Had very nice visits from 2 neighbors which helped pass the time for me. There was a yearly board meeting after we closed but with the sky darkening and several errands to run I didn't stay for the meeting.
It usually is a short, no new business,no vote meeting anyway.
I kept watching the sky and saw a few snowflakes flying around but made it home safely.
Hubbie had taken a list of animal feed and Sam's items we needed and stopped on his way home for those.
After we unloaded the van he put a couple chicken breast on the grill with a couple sweet potatoes to make sure we got them cooked before the bad weather got here.
We watched a NC State/ Miami b-ball game on TV, a very close game Miami won by 1 point.
I did evening chores and came inside disappointed that the snow seems to have gone all around us.
It looks like the snow made up the bread of a sandwich and we were the meat, boo !

Spent the evening snuggled with my 4-legged kids on the couch.
Thanking God for the blessings of the day.
Good Night and God Bless.

  1. Quite a bit more snow here this morning. Had about 3 inches this time... AND--they say we'll get more tomorrow morning... I waited so long for some snow... Now it is all coming at the same time... crazy.... I'll post pictures on my blog on Monday...

Hope you have a blessed Sunday.
    Hugs,

  2. We got a surprise of about 1-2 inches; fell fast, was beautiful and went away just about as fast. I do love watching it fall tho!
