RAINY TUESDAY

Up to greet both g-daughters this morning as daughter is feeling better and is going back to work today.
I went out in a misty light rain to get the chores done and looked around the yard on this dreary day at some of the bright spots the Fall color has created.

Back inside I got RL ready for pre-school and as the rain got harder I dropped her off and came home.
I still feel run down this morning as I had another bad night. I took another dose of the cough medicine before I took a bath last night and I slept good for about an hour then woke up in a nightmare dripping with sweat and started coughing I guess from being too hot and coughed for over an hour before I ever got calmed enough to go back to sleep.
Seems I am one of many that have this side effect of nightmares from codeine. Guess that is the last dose of the cough syrup that I'll take.
My chest dose feel less congested today so hopefully the antibiotic is working and I am getting over the bronchitis.
I had intentions of housework this morning but some how none got done !!!
And no one else had any motivation to do anything either on this rainy day.
I went back to pick up g-daughter RL and she wouldn't eat anything before we started home and of course she went right to sleep.
Hubbie carried her inside when we got home and she slept her usual 2 hour nap on the couch.  We had lunch then I did some ironing so the day wasn't a total loss.
After RL woke up she had her late lunch of mac and cheese and then both girls got to do what they wanted to do for a while.
RL was very glad the rain stopped and left a still warm mid 60's day so she could get another day of outside play in.
IR played in her little seat a while then layed on a blanket and watched Cookie Monster on TV.

After their mom's picked them up hubbie and I watched the early news. The Atlantic hurricane season isn't done yet as the "R" storm,Rina was named today. Looks like she won't bother any land mass.

We got the chores done and came back inside to catch the 6:00 regular news. That's one thing about the time right now is I can get everything done, shut up the chickens in their houses and still make it inside before 6 :00 news time.
I emptied 1 " of rain from the gauge out of our rainy morning and early afternoon.
We relaxed for the evening and headed for an early bedtime.
Thankful for the blessings of this day and for the love and grace of Jesus Christ.
God Bless and Good Night

PRAYING FOR SUTHERLAND SPRINGS TEXAS

My cough syrup was a disappointment last night as I still coughed alot and didn't get to sleep until after 1am.
Up this morning to greet only one g-daughter as daughter is not feeling like working today so she is keeping IR at home.
It is hard to tell where the sun is on this first Monday off day light savings time with all the dense fog this morning.

I did chores then took RL to preschool.
I came home and had my oatmeal breakfast so I could take another antibiotic pill on a full stomach.
I rested alot this morning as I still don't feel up to par and then we left early to stop by the Amazon returns place on the way to pick up RL.
We didn't find anything that we thought we couldn't live without and went on to the preschool.
RL ate her chicken nuggets and went right to sleep as soon as the Honda started moving.
By the time we got home I was really feeling sick to my stomach with the beginnings of a headache also. I was reminded that it was a little late for lunch and I hadn't eaten anything since breakfast so the antibiotic was making me sick on my empty stomach.
Hubbie carried RL in and layed her on the couch to get her nap and I went to bed until he could get some hamburgers and okra grilled for lunch.
After I ate I felt much better and got our weekly laundry started. I did 3 loads of laundry between playing with RL and resting this afternoon. I am certainly hoping it is the medicine that is making me feel yucky and not that I am getting worse.
RL played outside a long time with hubbie this afternoon. She loves the outdoors and we will certainly have a fight when the weather gets too cold for her to be out there.
She loves the chickens and loves to talk to them and apparently to try and fly with with them !!!
She finally came inside for a snack and watched some cartoons on TV. She loves to wear these cowboy boots as she calls them.
After her mom picked her up hubbie and I watched the news . Yesterday there was a horrific shooting again. This time at a small church in Texas. Seems this wasn't an act of terrorism but rather the act of a very mentally disturbed man out to kill his mother-in-law who usually attended this small church.
Sadly 26 church goers lost their lives including several very young children. In this very small community of just over 600 people the loss of 26 folks has hit them very hard.
A neighbor to the church confronted the man with a gun of his own and shot him. Wounded he drove away in his car and soon wrecked into a field and shot himself again.
He had sent a threatening text to his mother-in-law but the contents has not been released . She was not at church yesterday.
Information released today says that this man was discharged from the military for abusing his 11 month old son and the Air Force administration failed to send this information to the FBI which would have prevented this man from being able to buy the assault rifle he shot with.
My heart goes out to the parents and families in this senseless loss and I pray that they turn to God and know that He is and will get them through their grief.

I am humbly thankful for the blessings of my day and am praying for these folks in Texas vigilantly tonight .
God Bless and Good Night

DOCTOR VISIT DAY

Woke up on regular schedule  this morning and wondered why the clocks said it was still 6am ???
It took a while for me to realize the time had changed last night and all our clocks had been set back.
I had a very bad night of coughing that I couldn't stop so hubbie said since he listened to me rattling in my chest when I did sleep I should definitely try and get to a doctor today to find out if I had pneumonia .
I did morning chores and was eating my oatmeal for breakfast when daughter called and said she was really sick this morning and thought she might have strep throat. I told her she could go along with me to the clinic my doctors have on weekends in Asheville.. They didn't open until 11:00 so I took a nap while I waited to call for an appointment.
When I called them I was told they didn't make appointments anymore and that there was an almost 2 hour wait time at that time.
Daughter who had just arrived flopped on the couch and said she didn't think she could ride that far and wait that long as she felt really bad.
We decided to hit the CVS minit clinic here in town, at tleast they could do strep and flu teat for her and give me some cough syrup.
We went out and signed in just before the clinic nurse went to lunch so we would be the first to get in when she came back.
We went to Ingles to pick up a couple things we needed and then I stopped by Taco bell for a taco for my lunch, daughter didn't want anything but a snack from CVS when we got back there.
Daughter went in first and stayed a long time. When she came out she said all the strep and flu test were negative and she must just have a virus.
My turn went different as the nurse was over her head with my symptoms and made no bones about it after she listened to my lungs.
She said I needed a chest x-ray and she couldn't do one there . I would have to go over to the urgent care.
Daughter still felt bad so we stopped by to see how crowded the urgent care was and so that I could sign in for a place in line and then take her home and come back since it was only about 10 minutes from my house.
To our surprise there was no one in the waiting room at the urgent care and they said I would be taken right in. But that the results for the chest x-ray could take a while because they had to send it to the hospital to be read and then get the results back from them and they didn't know how busy they were.
I gave daughter my keys and she went home to get her car and go home and send hubbie back to pick me up.
I got right in and  the x-ray results didn't take long to get back and thankfully I don't have pneumonia , at least not quite yet.  I have a very bad case of bronchitis . I got very strong antibiotics and some strong cough syrup that can only be taken at night with orders if I'm not better 5 days into the prescription I have to go to my doctor because I am borderline on having bronchial  pneumonia.
Hubbie came back to pick me up just as I was leaving and we stopped at Ingles  to pick up my meds.
We came home around 4:30 for a full afternoon of doctor visits.
At least I know I'm not contagious to the kids unless I run a fever and I wasn't running one today.
That's probably why no one has gotten it from me because some evenings I have got the chills and probably had fever but the kids were always already gone.
I tried to take a short nap while I waited on chore time but couldn't and this day seems to be going on forever as it always does on this first day of daylight savings time.
I did the evening chores then ate a bowl of soup so I could take my first huge antibiotic 1000ml  pill.
I rested for the evening and then went to bed at 10:00 by the clock but it felt like a late bedtime .
Thankful for the ability of good doctors and for the hidden blessings that I overlooked in this hectic day, I know they were there !!
God Bless and Good Night

DRAW DOWN SATURDAY and DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME ENDS

Up to get ready for market today feeling a little more sickly than in previous mornings.
I got the chores done and we made it to market on time. We got set up and daughter brought her things in and set them up while hubbie took care of g-daughter IR.
Market started off very slow this morning but picked up during the day and we had a good selling day.
Daughter left after getting us lunch from Hot Dog World. Hubbie ate his lunch then he left also.
I had no problem handling the business after lunch.
I left market and made one stop at Aldi for baking supplies for tomorrow and made it home at 3:00.
I love our little town with tree lined streets that make this time of year beautiful.

I hit the couch for a while as soon as we got things unloaded to get a rest before heading out to school tonight for the annual Draw Down fundraiser.
We did chores early then met son-in-love and daughter out at the school to have a steak dinner and see what we would win tonight.
Daughter won another ticket in a card draw but both tickets were called out before the cash prizes started.
Daughter's went out early in the 70's out of 300 and ours went our in the 250's out of 300. This was our prize.
I was starting to cough so after our last ticket number was called out we left.
I rested the rest of the evening.

Thankful for the blessings of this day and for the love of a wonderful Savior.
God Bless and Good Night

PLAYDAY FRIDAY

Both g-daughters arrived on time and we got the day started sweetly with both Pawpaw's girls.

I went out to get the chores done and took a picture on this Friday morning of the last time in a while the sun won't be above the horizon when I'm out here due to day light savings time ending this Sunday.
Our November garden is still giving us greens and potatoes haven't been dug yet.
These Morning Glories still make me smile every morning.
And "bang" it's like magic that suddenly the leaf color that these mountains are famous for is here. In this "view from here" pic and also along the roads as I drove RL to her preschool .

Back home I spent the morning baking cakes, 3 chocolate, 2 pound, 1 coconut to fill orders .
Hubbie played with g-daughter IR while I was in the kitchen.
I finished just in time to go back to pick up RL from preschool.
She went right to sleep and slept after being carried in on the couch for 2 hours. IR was asleep also when I got home and she slept and watched TV in her bouncy seat until RL woke up.
RL wanted to have a picnic on this beautiful day and knowing these warm sunny days are surely numbered that's where we headed.
After she ate it was off to ride "the green one" which g-son named when he rode it at her age. She becomes a speeding daredevil on this thing.

We all went to sit on the porch in our rocking chairs.
She also loves Flash and Pumpkin or to her "meow" !!!

RL in my old car that was bought for me by my Aunt Hattie when I was RL's age.

IR just has to watch all the activity.
Lastly the  tom boy in RL really came out as she climbed this Mimosa tree.
After their mom's picked them up hubbie and I rested and watched the news before doing the chores.
The clouds were moving back in this evening to create this colorful sky.
I took another break after chores just to recoup some energy to get my icing done and get things ready for market.
I got into bed at 10:30 tonight for hopefully a good cough-less night of sleep.
Thankful for the blessings of this day.
God Bless and Good Night.

SLOW MARKET DAY

Both g-daughters arrived at the same time this morning to get this day off to an early start.
I got the chores done while hubbie got RL her breakfast and IR was content to watch the activities of the morning from her bouncy seat on the kitchen table.
I got ready for market and we got started. I dropped RL off at her pre-school and arrived at market to meet hubbie with a sleeping IR.
There were no cars in the parking lot except vendors so we got set up before IR woke up and wanted to have a morning bottle.
After she ate hubbie carried her around the market until Connie,(other g-ma), got there to pick her up around 10am.
After she left hubbie was recruited to help put up the Christmas decorations in market.

I think this is a bit early but all the stores are all decked out now with all Christmas décor so I guess market managers decided to join them. I love Thanksgiving and hate that it seems to be forgotten between Halloween and Christmas . This is how I feel !!!
Market was really slow today but I am thankful for the $50 I made and the $23 daughter made on her things.
Thankfully I have a 5 caramel cake order that I am meeting a lady at 4:00 with this afternoon so that will made my sales day a lot better.
I left market and went by the bank then shopped at Aldi and Ingles  on my wayto meet the caterer that ordered the 5 cakes.
When I got home hubbie was mowing the high spots in the lawn and mulching the leaves.
We still have  a lot of leaves on our trees so leaf work will continue long into this month.
We got unloaded and I rested and watched the early news.
I did chores then caught up on my blog book reading.
This big almost full moon was really pretty tonight but all i had to make a pic was my phone.

I wrote the blog post for today and got into bed as all this coughing I've done today has wore me out.
Thankful for the blessings of this day .
God Bless and Good Night.

WELCOME NOVEMBER

Had a pretty rough night with my coughing being aggravated by the cold night air. This morning I feel pretty run down and really notice that I didn't eat any supper last night.
I did chores then took RL to school.
G-son is spending the day with us today as he looked like he was getting worse last night and had an eye that was really watery. After finding out he had been exposed to pink eye from a boy in his class d-in-love decided to let him stay home today since his class was going on a filed trip and he would again be out in the cool cloudy weather of today.
His eye is looking better but the doctor called in drops for him just in case.

He had fun with Pawpaw playing games on his new chromebook.

This little one also is happy today.

I spent the morning baking cakes, 6 caramel, 2 chocolate, 3 pound and 1 blackberry wine cake. I am sure business will slow down this month but it is starting off pretty good for me with a couple very good orders this week.
After a late lunch I worked on some paperwork and then after the kids left we rested and watched the news.
I did the evening chores and returned to the paperwork and bill paying for the week.
I finished this day icing cakes and getting things ready for market. We have to load tonight because of both girls coming in the morning.
I am taking some Nyquil tonight to see if it will help me get a good nights sleep. My cough has been pretty constant today so I need to quiet it for the night.
November came in very quietly today with a beautiful Fall partly cloudy day with temps around a comfortable 60 degrees. Looks like at least the first week of November will feel like late summer or early fall .

Thankful for the blessings of this day and for the wonderful blessed life God leads me through each day. As I look at this picture g-daughter RL brought home today it makes my heart happy that she is also learning to be thankful for all God's creations

God Bless and Good Night
