Up early to get the day started with g-son here at 7am.
I spent the morning after my regular duties, in the kitchen baking cakes. I baked 40 layers and 2 pound cakes before stopping for lunch.
The forecast was for rain today and if you go on looks they would be correct but even with the dark threatening clouds no rain has fallen yet.
G-son has been lego constructing again this morning. I love how he creates his own ideas of things.
I cleaned house through the afternoon between checking out all his new inventions.
I need to do some sewing but just couldn't get in the mood this afternoon and I know better than to sit down at the sewing machine if I'm not in the mood to sew !!!
After son picked up g-son I went outside to pull some weeds and enjoy the few rays of sunshine that had finally burned through all the cloudiness.
The temperature is going up with low 80's today even with the cloud cover.
On this dreary afternoon I thought it would be a good time to start my 8th volume blog book of the first 6 months of this year. I have never had trouble down loading on to booksmart before but today was a different story. After trying to load 6 months of blog post and photos twice I gave it up for the day. I may have to look for different options for printing a book.
After chores and a light supper I spent the evening back in the kitchen icing caramel and chocolate cakes.
As I let the dogs out for their late night potty break I looked up at this beautiful full blue moon. This full moon is called a "blue moon" because it is the third full moon in a season that has four full moons. This August full moon is also known as the full sturgeon moon, named this by early tribes because the large fish called sturgeon can be easily seen and caught by this month's full moon. Also called the full red moon because of the red around it caused by disturbances in the atmosphere.
By playing around with some different settings on my camera I got some pretty good shots of it.
God has blessed me richly and give Him all the glory for it each day.
Good Night and God Bless.
I AM A HARDWORKING,COUNTRY LIVING, GOD LOVING, WIFE, MOTHER, NEENA & MIMI. WELCOME ALONG ON THIS JOURNEY AS I STRIVE TO GLORIFY THE LORD IN ALL THAT I DO.

NO RAIN TODAY (yet) !!
G-son was going back to bed this morning but his stomach got both of us up soon after he got here wanting breakfast.
He must be going through a growing spurt because it seems he just can't get filled up lately.
Morning chores were a challenge today as the mud seems to be getting deeper with each rainy day.
I spent this cloudy cool morning doing housework and laundry while g-son ate everything he could find and went back to lego constructions.
After lunch we went outside for a while to play ball but the mosquitoes moved in and ended our game!
I worked downstairs this afternoon getting some things cleaned and moved around.
Peeks of sunshine made the afternoon and evening warmer than the last several days but the upper 70's temperature was still about 5 degrees below normal.
The next week is going to get closer to normal and hopefully we will get to dry out a little bit.
After evening chores hubbie and I tried to sit out on the front porch in our rocking chairs but we only lasted about 15 minutes before the mosquitoes found us and dived in. On the news tonight they said we have about 3 times as many of these little blood suckers as we usually do around here. They offered the suggestion that getting rid of standing water around your house would reduce the numbers and I had to laugh. With rain falling each day it is very hard to get rid of all the standing water around anywhere !!! Guess I could get a bucket and start dipping out the mud holes around the yard !!!
However we have had a dry day so far today with no rain to empty from the gauge this evening. But the forecast is for rain later tonight and early tomorrow morning.
Grateful to God for the blessings of today and offering a prayer for the families of an accident nearby that killed one man and left a 17 year old charged with speeding to cause the accident.
Good Night and God Bless.

RAINY DAY AND NEWS ARTICLE IN 2003
Woke to a rainy morning today, before it slacked off we had another 1" total in our rain gauge. Our area is only 8" away from being the rainiest year on record and with 4 months to go until the end of the year I'm pretty sure we will make it. The way things are going we might make it before the end of this month !!!!
Sadie is due for her rabies shot and she had a 9:45 appointment with our vet so after chores and breakfast hubbie , g-son and I with a wet Sadie in a carrier in the back of the van headed over to the vet's office. We laughed on the way there as g-son complained of a "wet dog" smell where he was sitting in the back seat !!
Had to wait at the vet's office longer than we ever had in the past, maybe I will take a mental note to stay away from Monday appointments.
As we were leaving g-son had to check out the vet's pig farm in back of her office.
After we left there we stopped at our insurance agent's office which was on our way home to take care of some things for daughter and #2 son. Had a nice visit with our agent who also is a member of our church family and lives on a horse farm just up the road from us.
Made it home right at lunch time.
I have had a project in mind for a while now and this rainy day was perfect to get it done since I had help.
G-son's room needed a major cleaning, all his toys needed going through and things needed to be moved around creating more room. There is a nice baby crib downstairs that really needs to be moved upstairs and this room is a perfect place and has plenty of room for it with a few minor adjustments. And when it isn't in use it will make a perfect holder for all the stuffed animals he has on his bed.
Hubbie helped until the rain stopped and then he went outside to do some weed cutting. G-son stayed close by making sure I didn't toss anything he wanted. I was amazed at the things he knew were part of other things. We still had a large garbage bag full of broken toys and lost parts to throw away.
When #1 son came in to pick up g-son I got him to help me move the bed and desk around. I haven't got the crib yet because it is full of stuff and I will need to find a shelf to put that stuff on.
I had to do my back exercises tonight from all the lifting I did today !!
More rain has started tonight.
In August 2003 the local newspaper did a story on my farm and curb market business.
Daughter now makes these same blackberry muffins from fresh blackberries she picks so I guess the the title of this story was very fitting !
Thanking God for the blessings of this day and praying for His guidance for tomorrow.
Good Night and God Bless.

GREAT NEPHEW EASTON TURNS TWO
Working our way through the book of Acts each Sunday is interesting. I like that our preacher takes each book of the Bible and works all the way through it. Today we finished chapter 23 about Paul's journey to Caesarea.
After we all ran to check out the estate sale for the second week in a row,not finding much at all there today we had a full house for lunch.
It is so good to hear all the happy conversation and laughter filling the house, reminds me of years ago when I had the entire basketball teams over for a meal. On the menu today was pot roast with potatoes and carrots in the crockpot along with fresh green beans and corn on the cob, with delicious pound cake Rebecca made for dessert.
After everyone left hubbie and I headed over to nephew Aaron's for his son's second birthday celebration.
Little great nephew Easton loved his green monster cupcake icing.
Using the number "2" for a dipping stick worked great !!!
We had a really nice visit with family and made it home about 6:30 just in time to get the chores done before the rain started.
I dumped 1/2" of rain from the gauge after the steady drizzle of last night. Tonight's rain wasn't anything but a heavy mist so far. The temperature is staying in the low 70's making for another fall feeling evening.
Thankful for a wonderfully blessed Sunday.

COOL BUSY MARKET DAY
Hubbie and I both woke up about 10 minutes before the alarm this morning surprised that daughter hadn't been by yet to drop her baking and blackberries off for market. She has a volleyball tournament at the high school she is coaching at today. The head coach is leaving at noon to take her daughter to Clemson so daughter will have to be in charge of the tournament this afternoon. She came by about 15 minutes after we got up, she had went by to unlock the gym at the elementary school where some of the games are to be played on her way here.
Market was busy this morning and my cousin's Kathleen and Patty with their husbands came by.
This is the three of us "Pryor" cousins in front of my market tables.
The husbands enjoyed a visit with each other as well as we ladies.
My hubbie sells daughter's blackberries while visiting with Paul (Kathleens hubbie) and Patty's hubbie standing.
Hubbie stayed until he had sold all the blackberries before leaving to go by Tractor Supply for more bird seed.
I have been slack at keeping the feeders filled in all this rain and all my birds have left my yard, hopefully if I keep the feeders full for a while all my feathered friends will return.
After market I picked up some baking supplies on the way home and beat the rain getting my van unloaded.
The rain started and has continued through the evening not heavy but just a steady drizzle.
We got the raincoats back out after their few days rest and did chores.
The rainfall predictions are heavy for this weekend.
Our strange low temperatures continue with today's high at 68 degrees and tomorrow's forecast even lower with more rain. As I dressed in jeans and a longer sleeved top this morning I thought I can not remember a time any time close that I had long pants on in August.
Had to make a late night run to Walmart tonight for a birthday gift for my great nephew tomorrow.
Driving after dark in the rain is definitely not my favorite thing to do but late at night is my favorite time to shop in Walmart, no crowds of people in the aisles and no waiting to check out !
Looking forward to worshiping my Heavenly Father tomorrow with my church family.
Good Night and God Bless.

A VISIT FROM COUSINS KATHLEEN AND PATTY
Behind on my blog post again !
Another hectically busy day with some added good times as well.
G-son's workshop at school is over so after he had breakfast he declared the living room a "construction zone" and told me I had to ask permission to come in !!
Lincoln logs were the construction tool of choice today. I sneaked some photos as he began his building.
After I finished my outside work and had my breakfast I had a call from sis-in-law reminding me of my great nephew's second birthday on Sunday and giving me an invite to the party.
She also was concerned about our friends who had the accident yesterday with their camper.
I spent the morning baking 40 cake layers for 18 caramel and 2 chocolate cakes. I also baked 3 pound cakes to fill some orders. Two of my customers cancelled their orders for tomorrow because of the predicted rainfall we are supposed to get but so far haven't seen any rainfall.
Last year newly discovered cousin Kathleen from Texas and her husband Paul came by for a visit and today they are coming back with her sister Patty and her husband for a visit.
With the living room commandeered by g-son we sat out in the sunroom on this cool day and got to know one another. It was really nice to see them and talk about some old times we both had heard about our fathers and grandparents.
This is me in the middle with Patty in black on the left and Kathleen on the right.
Patty and her husband live in south western Ohio and made the 6 hour drive here to a reunion of some folks on their mother's side. Kathleen and her husband who live in Texas flew in. They are both leaving on Sunday so they are planning a trip to the Curb Market to see me tomorrow.
G-son used all the logs he had and built an entire town while we had our visit.
Such a sweety !!!!
I did evening chores and then hubbie, g-son and I had supper before his mom picked him up.
I spent the entire evening icing caramel and chocolate cakes and getting things ready for market.
I made it to bed at 11:30,ahhhh another busy day comes to a close.
Grateful to God for the blessings of today and asking for His grace in the days to come.

COULD FALL BE IN THE AIR ????
Leaving for market this morning I took a second look around the farm to be sure everything was quiet after yesterday morning.
Market was a little slower today but I am very thankful for what I did sell. I was wishing I had on long sleeves and pants as the cooler air has moved in and the clouds make it an uncomfortable day to have capris and short sleeves on.
Got a call from the cousin I met last year from Texas who is back in town for a reunion on her mother's side and we will get together tomorrow and I will get to add another cousin to my list as her sister is also here.
After running all my errands and making a couple Avon deliveries it was almost 5:00 when I finally got home.
It looks like it is going to rain any minute but we made it through the entire day without a drop, well so far anyway as it is 10 pm now. The high temperature for today was 67 degrees for a very "fall" feeling day.
I did chores and had a light supper. #2 son came by to bring some papers and said he hasn't got a final amount from the builder for his house yet. He is going to look around on the market to see what is out there for the kind of money he thinks he will need to spend to have this house built.
For some reason I am really wiped out tonight and all I want to do is snuggle down in my warm bed and sleep.
G-son spent his last day today at discovery workshop so maybe we will get to go back to sleep for awhile in the morning but somehow I doubt it !!!
God is always a loving, caring God. Saying a thankful prayer tonight for a couple friends of mine, the Rhodes family, as they were involved in a terrible accident yesterday on their way to Pigeon Forge,Tenn. which totaled their camper and pick up truck but allowed them to escape with only minor injuries. This is a pic from the TV station as they loaded them up on the wrecker. Scary !!!
