Today is "pink-out" day at church as we raise breast cancer awareness.
As I drive to church this morning I am struck with the beauty of the leaves in our area this year. It is no wonder that our roads are jammed with tourist gazing at the Fall scenery.
Our church this morning.
This is one of the prettier leaf seasons I have seen with all of the colors getting into the picture at the same time.
Hubbie and I served our quarterly nursery duty this morning. We had an extra easy time as we only had one little boy.
At lunch we had #1 son's family to help eat the roast beef, boiled potatoes, corn, greens and crock pot broccoli casserole I made that turned out great and was sooo easy.
Daughter came by and took lunch for her and Josh as they were going to spend the afternoon doing yardwork that has gotten so behind with her volleyball schedule.
After lunch g-son opted to stay with us while his mom and dad went over to the outlets to get some on sale kids clothes.
I spent the afternoon getting out my Halloween decor. I mostly keep all the decorations in the back yard and in the sunroom as this is where all the trick or treaters will come to if we have any.
Inside.....
I had forgotten about this "pinterest" idea from last year that I made.
Outside decorations will be lit up on Halloween night. Plus a couple lighted Jack-o-lanterns.
I took g-son to church for kids choir practice at 6:00 and then did the chores.
As I walked around the yard this evening I noticed there are some new blooms that have been fooled by the cold then warmer weather.
This Almond bush has some pink and some white blossoms on it.
The Forsythia has lots of blooms.
And I am still impressed with these trailing Geraniums that are still blooming even after the cold temps.
A very peaceful restful Sunday as we get ready for about 3 nasty, cold , windy days to start this last week of October according to the weather forecasters.
Today has been solidly clouded in with low 70's temps but the feeling of moisture is definitely in the air.
Thankful to God for a wonderful church family and the blessings of this day.
Good Night and God Bless.
I AM A HARDWORKING,COUNTRY LIVING, GOD LOVING, WIFE, MOTHER, NEENA & MIMI. WELCOME ALONG ON THIS JOURNEY AS I STRIVE TO GLORIFY THE LORD IN ALL THAT I DO.

1995 OCTOBER MEMORIES
Up and off to market on a cloudy cool morning.
Market was good this morning but business tapered off quickly and all us sellers were left looking at one another and wondering what happened ???
That's the way business in here is some days, there is no explanation for how the days go sometimes !
I am thankful for what I did sell and I still have two more days in this month to make a good showing for October. I was really worried when a customer who had ordered 5 caramel cakes didn't show up until 5 minutes before closing time, loosing that sale would have really put a hole in my day !
I am very thankful for all the things I did sell today.
After market I only had one stop to make and that was at Aldi to pick up a few baking supplies and a turkey beast for next week's lunches.
Hubbie was mowing some of the lawn that he didn't get to last week . We got things unloaded and took a nice break . It is really cool, only 59 degrees under completely cloudy skies so it felt good to snuggle with my 4-legged kids for a little while and they were more than happy to oblige.
After chores and supper I worked on my blog book. I discovered that I could get more months loaded on my laptop than desktop. I guess there must be some compatability problems with the old Windows-7 and the Booksmart downloads. My laptop is loaded with Windows-8. I am thinking about putting Windows-10 on my desktop but am afraid I will screw something up with my vast (not) knowledge of the internet world !!!
On the news tonight they talked of a historical event that happened in the Pacific as a catagory 5 hurricane or cyclone as they are called in the western hemisphere, hit the coast of Mexico with winds of 200 mph. This is the strongest cyclone to ever make landfall in the western hemisphere.
Fortunately there wasn't as significant impact as previously thought but it is still a very strong storm system and will eventually even push rain into our area as it drags moisture from the gulf.
To continue with the October decade series , here is my three kids school pictures from October 1995.
#1 son was in 8th grade.
#2 son was in 7th grade.
And daughter was finishing up elementary school in 5th grade.
In those years every 5th grade class at all the schools had several days of "outdoor ed". A local summer camp hosted the kids and hubbie or I tried to go along to help out on several of the days with each child. It was hubbie's turn in this photo as he has lunch with daughter ( purple shirt) and her friends.
Thankful for the blessings of today and looking forward to worshiping my awesome Savior tomorrow with my family.
Good Night and God Bless.

BABYSITTING FRIDAY
Up at 7:30 this morning to meet the grands as there is no school for students today so both g-son and new g-daughter are staying here today.
G-son is so good to watch his baby sister and he was so proud to watch her as she slept while I went outside and did the morning chores.
It is a beautiful morning as this pic d-in-love took of Cayenne with the sunrise this morning as she left for work.
I spent the morning baking cakes while g-daughter slept and g-son played games on his I-pad.
I baked 12 caramel, 2 chocolate, 6 pound, 2 blackberry wine, 2 pumpkin spice and 1 apple spice.
I would peek into the living room every few minutes to check on the kids, finally g-son said "Neena, you don't have to come in here, I am watching her " !!!!!
When it was her feeding time he asked if he could do it. So he did very well , she drank the entire bottle, then I helped him burb her !! He was so proud !! He kept saying he loved her sooooo much !!
Mom came in for lunch and brought g-son lunch from Sonic and fed g-daughter her mid day feeding.
After she left g-daughter went back to dreamland and stayed there until 3:30 in the afternoon. She must dream sweet dreams as much as she smiles while she sleeps.
I remember when g-son fit on my legs like this and it seems impossible that it was nine years ago !!
G-son made this picture of me and g-daughter.
Mom worked over a little while this evening so I gave g-daughter another bottle at 3:30 and she fell right back into a deep snooze . She was still fast asleep when mom took them home about 5.
This is homecoming night at the high school where daughter works and they had a little kid's carnival to raise money for breast cancer awareness. This is her volleyball team , she is the coach on the left in the back shirt.
We were going to take g-son out to the games and inflatables but other g-ma brought him pizza for supper and then watched him skate board in all his new gear.
After I did the evening chores I took a mind clearing walk to see the beautiful color of the leaves.
This is peak weekend and there is some glorious colors, especially in the setting sun's reflection.
This is the large Oak trees in front of our house.
These Mallard ducks where enjoying the last rays of the warm sun today.
It is warmer this evening than it has been for several days and feels so good.
I even managed to find "Old Man Winter" lurking in the colored leaves again this year.
Looks like he might be laughing at us about his upcoming winter weather !!!
This is such a beautiful time of year with all the contrasting colors.
There will be plenty of Holly berries for decorating this holiday season.
As I reluctantly turned toward home the sun was being pushed over the horizon by some dark clouds that are ushering a cool front through our area over the weekend but no rain is predicted ,just clouds and cooler temps.
In the eastern sky the moon was up early in a clear Fall sky.
What a perfect end to a perfect day !!!
I came inside and finished the day icing cakes and getting things ready for market tomorrow.
God is so good all the time and I am humbly grateful for the blessings of this day and always.
Good Night and God Bless

BUSY MARKET and A BUSY 1985 OCTOBER
Up early to daughter bringing her baked goods by at 7:15 . I rested in bed until the alarm sounded and I rose to meet another market day Thursday.
After chores and getting things loaded I headed out. As I sat at the driveway after getting the newspaper out of the box a long line of cars was passing following a really slow moving truck so I decided to take the back way into town. I was glad I did because their was no traffic on these roads and I got a chance to enjoy the late Fall beauty along the roadsides.
I still made it to market in about the same amount of time.
Market was busy today and I sold well, thankfully as I know these busy days are quickly coming to an end with the end of the apple harvest and the coming of cold weather.
Hubbie brought me a Geek salad for lunch from my favorite place, Hot Dog World.
I bought these huge cabbage heads from one of the market neighbors. I see more canning in my future and some delicious boiled or fried cabbage.
After market I ran the regular errands and made stops at Ingles, Aldi and Walmart for groceries and baking supplies. I also stopped by a friends apple house and picked up a bag of mixed apples.
Freeman's apple house is on 64 hwy but not one of the more popular stops as all they sell is apples.
When I got home at 4:30 I started unloading and hubbie helped when he got here at 4:45.
I put some chicken tenders in the pressure pot and we had them for supper with left over greens from yesterday.
After the chores were done the sun went down and the cool evening came in fast. We went from a cold 36 degrees this morning to a sunny 78 degree high this afternoon. The humidity level is 19 which is very very dry.
While hubbie watched TV tonight I tried downloading 3 months of my blog book on my laptop and it worked. I cannot for the life of me figure out why this won't work on my desktop.
Oh well having it on my laptop will let me work on it in more convenient places anyway.
To continue with my decade pics to try and catch up these are from our active lives in October 1985.
#1 son celebrated his 4th birthday on the 16th with his brother and sister and all his cousins.
The daycare all the kids went to had a "hobo carnival" that year and our family won first place !!!
This is a favorite teacher the boys had, Tammy Russell, they used to go to her house and play in the evenings some days after school.
Then we all got dressed up again for trick or treating on Halloween.
I don't know who looks more excited me or the kids !!!!!?????
Another happening that month was school pictures.
#1 son at 4 years old.
#2 son was 2 & 1/2 years old and I see a tear in his eye from not wanting his pic taken !!
Both big brothers with a 7 month old little sister.
Niece Holly at 7 years old.
Nephew Aaron at 5 years old.
An exciting October for sure as they kids grew up back then. Like I said last night I thank God over and over again for all these wonderful memories.
Grateful to God tonight for these memories and the memories I make everyday now that I can look back on and praise His name for the goodness He brings into my life each day.
Good Night and God Bless.
