Not going to church this morning seems so strange as I get ready to go to a family reunion instead. I pray God will forgive me.
The reunion was from cousins on my dad's side of the family, mostly decendants of my grandfather's brother and I had a great time. This is my great uncle William and his family.
Hubbie and daughter went with me and I was so busy getting to know new cousins and reconnecting with some old cousins who I hadn't seen in years I lost track of them a couple times but there were some people there they knew also so that made it easier for them. Daughter didn't want me to look like a tourist so I left my camera in the car . I am hoping to get copies of some group photos that were made.
Most of the new cousins I met live out of town so it was nice to get to know them a little bit.
It was a covered dish lunch and we enjoyed it very much.
We met at the community center not far from my house and the weather co-operated except for the humidity that was terrible this morning.
It's been a mostly cloudy day all day after getting about 1/4" of rain late last night and early this morning.
After we got home from the reunion we spent a relaxing Sunday afternoon.
Grateful to God today for a wonderful Sunday and the opportunity to connect with family both new and old.
Good Night and God Bless.

I have been to family reunions every year since we moved back to NC. Both my parents came from large families and it has been nice to meet the cousins I played with as a child.
Family Reunions are so much fun. We don't have many --but then again, there's not many of us left in my family.. I did go to one a couple of years ago--and LOVED it.

I've so enjoyed your blog How I Came to Be, having just found it a couple of weeks ago. My great-grandmother - Alice Jessie Pryor - must've been your dad's sister, although she would've died before he was born. My grandmother - Effie Jay Bagwell Smith Wise - would've been his niece, although she was older than him. Funny how things work out that way in families sometimes. Thanks so much for posting the clippings and photos!

My favorite part of reunions are when the tales begin to be told from a different era...I am in hog heaven and could listen for days.
