Up early again this morning as g-son arrived before 7. He went back to sleep but this morning I couldn't go back to sleep so I just rested until the alarm went off.
I found him sitting in the living room when I came back in from chores. After breakfast for both of us I exercised and went for a walk outside. I was hoping for rain today but so far it has passed us by. The temperature is cooler this morning in the mid 70's for a nice change. Even in the dry conditions this lily has started blooming.
These are some of the lilies daughter planted down around the entrance to her downstairs apartment last year when she lived with us. They remind me of her and make me smile when I look at them.
After my walk I started laundry and weekly housecleaning.
Just before lunch g-son wanted to go outside and have me push him on the swing so I put the housework on hold for a while !
It is sunny but not to hot today so we played outside until lunch time.
He was content to play inside after we ate so I got all my work done.
The folks who came to look at hubbie's Honda last night called back and bought it. They are picking it up around 4:30.
This little Honda Accord has been a good car for the past 6 years but it is time for some changes around here and this is the first thing that needs to go.
The sky grew very dark and the thunder started in the early afternoon so I went up to the garden and pulled the chickens some weeds and brought back enough jars for my green beans from my garden shed where I store all my empty jars.
I had 3 big bowls of broken half runner beans.
I gathered all my canning tools and started up my old antique canner.I bet this thing is from the 1940's or maybe the 30's.It belonged to my dad's wife before my mom and she died in 1951.
I could buy a new pressure canner but they are so much lighter than this one and don't feel like they are made near as well as this one so as long as I can buy seals for this one and the gauge still works I'm good.
By supper time I was finished and had 18 quarts sealed and ready for the cubbard.
While I worked hubbie gleaned the garden and we took some extra produce down to the new renters.
Then we stopped and petted the horses on the way back up. We made it inside just as big rain drops started falling.
We didn't get much rain but maybe the air will moisten up enough for tomorrow and we'll have our turn.
Hubbie and I are discussing some more changes we are making in our future tonight.
Thanking God for His wonderful blessings today and looking forward to what He has in store for tomorrow.
Good Night and God Bless.

Hi Marilyn, Good news from here. We finally got some rain today (about 3/4ths an inch) --and it's cooler. Praise be to God... We loved it --and our yard/flowers loved it...
My Mom used to have an old pressure cooker almost like the one you pictured.... That brought back memories...
We may get more rain tomorrow ---all the way to Friday... Hope so!!!!!!
Hugs,
Betsy
Glad you are getting some rain and that you sold the car. My mother used to can but I never tried it. Maybe one of these days I will give it a try - sure beats store bought.
