2019 MEMORIAL DAY AND A 1979 MEMORY

A relaxing Monday morning for a change on this Memorial day.
Please remember to say a thankful prayer today for all the brave men and women who gave their all so that we may have the freedoms we have.

I got chores done and had breakfast. Hubbie went outside to clean out our gutters and re-nail one of them to the house.
I got laundry started and put away last weeks clean laundry.  I got a couple loads done before lunch.
While we ate we decided today would be a good day to replace the dying large evergreen beside our front steps. Ever since the  snow started sliding off the metal roofing and landing on it the back side and middle has turned brown and is dying.
We were going to Home Depot anyway to pick up some things daughter needs so we looked around for something to replace it. The evergreen has been in this location for many years and has a huge root system so we decided maybe a potted evergreen would be better than trying to dig another hole.

The area looks oddly vacant now but when we have an answer on our heat pump and are sure we don't have to get a new one put in we will get more azaleas and plant in front of the heat pump.

This half old whiskey barrel still smelled like whiskey  !!
I finished one more load of laundry after we got all this done and then watched the news before going out to get chores done. It has been 89 degrees and sunny all day but thankful our old well insulated house has stayed pretty cool on the inside without our heat pump running.
We went over to daughters this evening to lay out a plan for tomorrow so we can all be helpful any way we can.
We came home and watched the sun go down behind a few fleeting clouds that passed by this evening.
To continue the decade series for May here is some pics of my youngest brother Rick who graduated high school in May of 1979.

Thankful for the blessings of this day and praying that everything goes smooth for daughter tomorrow as she brings another little miracle into this world.
God Bless and Good Night
