Today is the 71st anniversary of this unprevoked attack on the United States. Just before 8am hundreds of Japanese fighter planes attacked the American naval base at Pearl Harbor.
As for my day it started off early getting g-son to school,then chores and baking cakes all morning.
I baked 12 caramel,3chocolate , 4 coconut and 2 pound cakes and was finished just before lunchtime.
I spent the afternoon putting up Christmas decorations. It seems I have spent a long time decorating this year but some days I have been in slow motion. Today I got all the outside finished except the lights that require me climbing a ladder and when I am here alone I try not to get on ladders !!!
I have one more tree to decorate inside, the sunroom tree, and a few more things to set up and I will be ready for picture taking.
I had to cut my decorating short this afternoon at about 3:30 because I needed to ice 6 caramel cakes.
Tonight is the Deacon's dinner and I won't have time to ice 12 caramel cakes when we get home.
I hurried through early chores as hubbie came in from work and joined me. We were supposed to be there at 5:30 and made it only about 5 minutes late.
The dinner was held at the Fruitland Bible College across from our church. They have a couple really nice dining rooms.
I came home to more cakes to ice, 6 caramel, 3 chocolate, 4 coconut and then wrapped and labeled things for tomorrow. It is 11:30 right now and I am tired and ready for bath and bed.
Thanking God tonight for my church family and I feel truly blessed to be a part of this wonderful group of folks to praise the Lord with.

MY BROTHER FOUGHT IN WW2 IN THE NAVY ALSO ON THE SHIP THE MISSOURI. AS SOON AS THE WAR BEGAN, HE QUIT SCHOOL AT THE AGE OF 17 AND JOINED UP. TODAY THE KIDS DON'T HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT OUR BOYS BACK THEN WENT THROUGH. TODAY THEY RUN TO THE LOCAL DRUG DEALERS. SORRY,JUST THE WAY I SEE IT. THANK GOD FOR THE GOOD KIDS. I READ YESTERDAY THAT THE CHRISTMAS TREE AT THE WHITE HOUSE ON THE FRONT LAWN WILL NOT BE DECORATED. THANKS MR. PRESIDENT FOR KEEPING OUR LORD IN CHRISTMAS.YA, RIGHT. SO MUCH FOR 17 YEARS OLD FIGHTING IN WW2 TO KEEP OUR FREEDOM UNDER GOD STRONG.

My father served the duration of World War II in Hawaii, Okinawa, Wrigley's island and many places they did not bother to tell the soldiers. He made it home but the war was always with him.
I honor those who served during this turbulent time. No, let me say I honor all who served at any time.
