BEGINNING OF ADVENT WITH HANGING OF THE GREENS SERVICE

Felt much better this morning, even getting my voice back somewhat to normal sounding.
Church was good this morning as we switched our study from Acts to Luke for the Christmas season.
We had roast beef for lunch along with mashed potatoes, canned green beans and creamed corn for lunch with everyone here. After lunch #2 son went up to hubbie's shop and changed the oil in his jeep while the rest of us went over to the estate sale place that we normally go to. Daughter bought an old door for decoration at her house, hubbie bought a book and I bought a tripod for my camera. The tri-pod was new in the box and only $11 at the 1/2 price sale.
After we left there hubbie and I went by Sam's Club for a few things. Hubbie had his monthly Deacon's meeting this afternoon at church so I did chores and got ready to go to the Hanging of the Greens service at church tonight.
Today has been another beautiful day for a December day.
I know we are getting really spoiled to this weather !!!
The "Hanging of the Greens" service is one of two holiday services that I really enjoy during this season.
The congregation actually decorates as we do a music themed program with certain things decorated with certain songs and music.
This is members of our congregation placing ornaments on the two trees on stage.
And this is after all the decorations were up and the lights turned on.
We lit the first candle of Advent tonight, the light of HOPE.

After the program we had a fellowship that we really enjoyed and we were one of the last people to leave. The couple that is renting #2 son's house and our pasture came and we enjoyed talking with them so much.
Say a prayer for me tonight please as I am going for my yearly mammogram tomorrow.
Thankful for this joyous season when we celebrate the birth of our dear Savior.
Good Night and God Bless.

I love the Hanging of the Greens services also--and we love Advent... It's one of my favorite seasons in the church year.

Glad you are feeling better. Hope you have a good week.
Hugs,
Betsy

What a lovely tradition - Hanging of the Greens. Will most certainly pray for you that your mammogram turns out well.
