HAPPY VALENTINES WEEK

Happy Valentines day to start this week off. We had a normal week with the girls here. G-son joined the group and EA seems to love that he was here.

IR and CA started dance clesses today.

RL also takes dance lessons as well as playing basketball on Saturdays.

We had fun with all the kids this week.

This week held a full moon called the "snow" moon and it was really bright and large.

On Saturday I finished cleaning up my blackberry patch for the upcoming season as the sun was shining but the temperature was still only 50 degrees it was a perfect day to work outside.
We had our usual Sunday lunch with everyone here for a nice visit.
Thankful for the wonderful blessings of this week.
God Bless and Good Night

BALLGAME AND EARLY SPRING BLOOMERS

Another boring winter week in the books !!   We had a nice week with the girls who are all over their colds and feeling well so it was fun.

On Tuesday night IR got to go to her first college basketball game with the UNC tarheels came to Clemson to play and her mom and dad decided she was old enough to watch the game. She had a blast as she found one of her classmates there sitting pretty close.

CA and EA got extra time with us and we kept them here until after 9pm when they got home from the callgame which UNC won that was a good one for IR to go to as her first game and she did great.

Wednesday at IR and CA's preschool was "red, white and blue" day and these cuties looked great.
All in all it was a good week of cold but sunny weather .  On Saturday hubbie and I spent the day in the yard and garden getting some pruning done and cleaning the plastic tunnel off the broccoli and cabbage plants that didn't make it through the single digit temps from a couple weeks ago. I also noticed all the pretty spring blooms around the yard that hopefully signal an early spring.

There was even this lone brave bumble bee sipping pollen from these daffodils.
I got the blueberries pruned along with about half of the blackberry patch and got the weeds cut off one of the asparagus patches before my back sent me inside to a heating pad for awhile.
Hubbie got all the grapes and muscadine grapes pruned and worked on getting some of the old wood cleaned up behind the garden.
Sunday was a nice family lunch with everyone except Aa's family who were at a Cub Scouting function.
Thankful for all the blessings of this past week and looking forward to what God has in store for the next week.  Happy early Valentine's day from these cuties.
God Bless and Good Night

MINI OLYMPICS AND SAYING GOODBYE TO AN OLD FRIEND

Another week of fighting off head colds and coughs for all of us made for a pretty dull week. The girls all were here and they all are better thankfully.

On Wednesday the pre school that IR and CA go to had a mini olympics and each class had to dress in their country's colors and had an activity in the gym which was fun for them. CA's class represented Sweden and IR's class represented Ireland.

On Friday we got almost 3.5 inches of rain that finished washing away all the lingering snow but thankfully didn't cause any flooding.
The end of the rain Friday evening created a beautiful colorful sunset.

Daughter's house as she pulled into her driveway.
Saturday was a work day for hubbie a nd I as he got all the grape vines pruned and cut out some of the black walnut trees that were growing below my sewing shop and worked inside changing out the furniture covers and decor for a new month. I also got caught up in cleaning and rearranging my bathroom.  It was a very cold day and I was glad to stay inside and hopefully keep my coughing going away.
Sunday was a regular family lunch day with d-in-love's mom Deb joining us for a big pot of vegetable soup with biscuits or cornbread and homemade apple pie for dessert.  Daughter was missing today as she went to son-in-love's parents for lunch.
One sad note this week was the red rooster that has been allowed to roam freely around the yard passed away . He was the big red rooster we called Roho and he was several years old so this wasn't unexpected but it is sad to loose him as he was certainly a beautiful boy and he was so calm around the kids and his lady hens that flew their regular lots to spend their days with him. R.I.P  old Roho.

Thankful for the blessing of this last week and looking forward to what God's plans are for the family in the coming week.
God Bless and Good Night
