HALLOWEEN 2020

Happy Halloween morning as we got up to a relaxed Saturday.  I got chores done then had a leisurely breakfast.  We had some yardwork plans this morning and then we will probably spend the afternoon getting ready for all the kids to come over for Halloween fun this evening.  I haven't put up all my Halloween decorations in many years as we have been doing the trunk or treat at church and not having Halloween anywhere or anytime else so it was fun to drag all my lights and decorations out and get them put up around the covered patio.  Thankfully it is a nice warm day and the sun is shining brightly.  I made some old fashioned popcorn balls early in the day they turned out really good.  I am also making chili for hot dogs and caramel apples to go with the burgers and hotdogs we are grilling.  I am also making the kids some mummy dogs for their supper.   The kids aren't big hotdog eaters but we thing they will eat these.

Hubbie and I worked all afternoon getting things all set up and cooked. This is my element , I love decorating and watching the kids have fun.      I also found a black wig to wear with my spider shirt and leggings.  Some of the kids didn't know what to make of my black long hair !!!!   The kids started their trick or treating route around 4:00 . First stop was Aa's dad's house.  The kids were really looking forward to getting to knock on doors and yelling trick or treat.

Next they made a stop in town at a business that had this neat elephant with a very long trunk that they slid the treats down through.

Next was #2 son and Tif's house which they loved .

They made a couple more stops at different advertised locations and had a ball getting to trick or treat.

As they came here I had a picture made with all of them as they arrived.

IR wanted a wig like mine and I just happened to have an extra one.

Everyone enjoyed all the food and treats and the fire and all the decorations.

The huge full moon added to the atmosphere of this Halloween evening 2020.

Unfortunately we got news of 2 extended family members that had accidents or health problems tonight so we are praying for both of them as we end the evening.                                                                           Thankful for a wonderful blessed day filled with family and friends and all the things that make special occasions special.                                                                                                                                           God Bless, Good Night and Happy Halloween

2020 HALLOWEEN EVE

Up to greet all three of the grand girls this morning. It is quite a bit cooler this morning and the wind is blowing just about as hard as it was yesterday during the storm but the sun is shining. I got chores done and then came inside for breakfast with the girls. We played some and then loaded up 3 orders of cakes to deliver before picking up lunch and heading home to eat.                                                                         It is windy and the temperature is still in the mid 50's at noon so we are planning an inside play today. All the girls ate a good lunch and then with all their begging to go out on the porch and have a popsicle hubbie took RL and IR out but it was too cold for CA so she and I stayed inside and read books.              The girls are going to have an adjustment in the colder weather and that all will greatly miss their extended outside time.                                                                                                                                   We snuggled when the older girls came back inside and both of them almost took a nap but CA was running around and kept them disturbed.                                                                                                       We followed daughter home to carve a couple more pumpkins for the girls. we have been planning on doing this for over a week now and this is the first chance we have gotten.

Hubbie and I came home and got chores done and then relaxed for the evening. The moon is not quite as high in the sky tonight as it was last night which always puzzles me but it is still beautiful and almost full. A full moon on Halloween hasn't happened in 76 years, the last one was in 1944.
Another year 2020 abnormal happening I guess !!!

I am very thankful for the blessings of this day and for the love of my wonderful Savior Jesus Christ.

God Bless and Good Night

TROPICAL STORM ZETA BRINGS WIND AND FLOODING RAINS

Woke to a stormy morning with pouring rain and high winds. We waited as long as we thought we could to get out to take care of the animals. The rain slacked some and we looked around for wind damage but only found minor things. Limbs down everywhere and the greens and broccoli blown over along with lots of water everywhere as the worst of the storm raced past our area thankfully as we are under a rare tropical storm warning.

Our lower pastures were completely filled with flood waters.
We are very thankful we have power this morning as many in our county do not with lots of poles and trees blown down.
Many roads were also flooded.
Hubbie and I spent a resting morning as we are both still fighting off head colds.  We had a cake order to deliver for daughter at 2:00 so we picked the cake and the girls up from her and met the cake customer.  As we came back up the drive we noticed the flood waters hadn't dropped any even though the skies had cleared.

Daughter and son-in-love were cleaning out their garage so the girls came to play here.

They were soon joined by RL who wanted to come play with them while her mom did housework.

They were shortly joined by EL and BB as their dad had to go his dad who had gotten stuck.
After they were all picked up hubbie and I headed out to get chores done. Thankfully the sun was shining and the day was a record breaking high temperature of 82 .
After today's warmth we are going to suffer these next days as we head for our first freeze of the season.
There was a beautiful moon tonight and the planet Mars was really visible above it.
The kids all went through the Lowe's trick or treat Halloween tonight and got lots of candy.

I baked a cake tonight and iced it right before getting into bed. Another dose of Nyquil tonight and hoping this will be the last one needed.
Thankful for the blessings of this day and for the protective arms of our Lord and Savior who kept all of us safe during the storm.
God Bless and Good Night

ERRAND DAY AND GETTING READY FOR HURRICANE ZETA

Woke from a good night's sleep feeling much better than yesterday. At least me nose isn't dripping today. We greeted all 3 of the girls this morning.  I got chores done and then we all had breakfast before we loaded up in hubbie's truck and headed out to get our weekly errands done. We made stops at the PO, dump/ recycle center, Sav Mor, and the library to pick up a book for hubbie at their curb side service. We picked up lunches on the way home and ate lunch when we got home.                                    After we ate I baked 6 caramel cakes while the girls played and then daughter who also has a head cold got off work since they don't have any students this afternoon and picked all the girls up to play at her house for a while. They were excited for a different place to play.                                                              Hubbie and I spent the afternoon resting and hubbie took a nap since he didn't sleep well last night.       It has rained all day off and on so it was a good day to get some relaxing rest in.                                      We got evening chores done and moved the chicken tractors again out of harms way hopefully if the high winds they are predicting knock some trees down on our power lines. Zeta made landfall this evening and is headed our way so we will see what tomorrow brings. We hardly ever see tropical storm watches this far inland but we are under it for tomorrow because this storm is moving so fast it will retain a lot of it's wind speed so we are expecting up to 50 mph winds which will be damaging. Schools are closed tomorrow because of the incoming storm.

I got my cakes iced and then we got another early bedtime night to try and get an upper hand on these colds we have.                                                                                                                                                Thankful for the blessings of this day and praying that the storm won't be as bad as expected and God will keep His protective arms around all of us.                                                                                              God Bless and Good Night
