PLAY DAY , BIKE RIDING LESSONS AND POTATO DIGGING

Up to greet IR and CA this morning as Deb, RL's other g-ma is with her today.   I got chores done and then had breakfast with the girls. It is another beautiful warm and sunny autumn day.
Next up for us was a trip to Fletcher Feeds to pick up chicken feed. CA was asleep as soon as we started but IR made the whole trip awake. She wanted some Cook Out hush puppies for lunch so we picked up lunch and came home.  We all had lunch together and both girls were hungry and cleaned their plates.
After lunch we headed outside to make good of this nice day knowing these warm days are certainly numbered for us now.  The girls played on their little slides down here for awhile and then took off up to their big slide and playhouse trailer.

CA thinks she has to lead the way !!!!

They played there then moved to Pawpaw's truck bed where IR spotted this little bicycle with training wheels and was determined to learn to ride it.

She sat on it scared and crying for a few minutes but refused to get off.  Finally she started petaling and then hubbie got a rope and helped her get the hang of steering it. She did very well for her first riding lesson.

Meanwhile CA was determined to ride something so she dug this old little riding toy out of the leaves and got on it and took off and was so proud of herself.

After daughter picked the girls up hubbie and I went over to #2 son's house to let their dog's out for a run since both he and Tif had been at work since 6:30 this morning and weren't expecting to get home until 9:00 tonight. That postal worker hours some days !!!
We came home and got chores done then I replanted spinach seeds in this raised bed. Everything else in here did pretty well except the spinach.

And this lettuce bed is doing really well.

We finished our gardening for the evening digging more potatoes. Tonight we finished digging the red Pontiac potatoes and got this large recycle container almost full and these 2 baskets of smaller potatoes that I plan to make soup from hopefully tomorrow.

We also got a start digging our main crop of Kennebec potatoes by finishing out the row where we had them planted with the Pontiacs . We got this 5 gallon bucket full from half a row so this looks to be a good potato harvest year for us.

I came inside and hubbie went over to daughter's to pick  up her trash and recyclables for our dump trip tomorrow.
I did weekly paperwork and paid bills then I discovered my monitor was not working on my desktop. I tried all the regular fixes but nothing worked so I am writing this on my laptop but having trouble downloading pics which always happens so hopefully I can get one of the other resolved by tomorrow night .
Thankful for the blessings of this day.
God Bless and Good Night
