GARDEN UPDATE ON A BEAUTIFUL SUNDAY

Up to another cold morning at 40 degrees, yesterday was 38 but I couldn't feel any difference because it is going to take a while to get used to this very refreshing air each morning !!!                                                  I got chores done and then we worked on getting the kitchen cleaned up and getting some spaghetti cooked for lunch. We are only having Aa's family today for lunch but g-son asked us to make extra so he could have some for supper tonight.  #1 son's family is hiking with d-in-love's brother and his family today in Marion.

Also daughter's family is hiking today with son-in-love's brother, Brad up in Dupont at Triple Falls.

#2 son and Tif are having lunch with Tif's dad.                                                                                                               After we ate BB and EL played outside on the swing . I had to get a coat because I thought it was really chilly but the wind died down some and it felt much better.                                                                         We did turn our furnace on night before last for the earliest time I think in recent years.   Thankfully we haven't had any frost yet.                                                                                                                               Our garden is done except for our fall /  winter crops of Kale, Collards, broccoli and cabbage that we have planted and our potatoes that we haven't dug yet.

This raised bed that I planted early with root crops of radishes, kolrabi, turnips and beets has not done well at all for some reason but with a little help from some Miacle Grow I'm hoping to get some harvest from it.
This bed didn't come up very good in some spots , especially the spinach which usually does well.         The boy choi, purple kale and chard did very well.
And this lettuce bed did very well but took forever to come up.
We are going to build frames and put covers on these to see how long we can have fresh produce this winter.                                                                                                                                                            There was a beautiful sunset tonight as #1 son's family came up to have supper and we sat out in the covered patio and watched the sunset.

Thankful for the blessings of this day.                                                                                                           God Bless and Good Night
