HAPPY 14 AND 39 TO G-SON AND #1 SON

Up  to greet all three grand girls this morning. It is a chilly cloudy morning today with a sprinkle of rain on and off with the passing of a cold front that is morning into the area today giving us maybe our first freeze of the season.

#1 son had to be at the hospital at 7:45 this morning for his gall bladder surgery at about 9:45. D-in-love is allowed to go in with him until they take him back for the surgery.  After they took him back she came here to pick up RL to take her for a check up and to get her shots for kindergarten next year.              Hubbie and I took IR and CA and went to pick up lunches so they would take naps. We ate lunch while they continued their naps when we got home and then d-in-love brought RL in from the doctor.   RL said her legs were sore but the doctor told her to keep moving.  Thankfully she was all smiles and thumbs up after the visit.

D-in-love talked to the hospital and they said son was in recovery getting ready to be released so she headed over to pick him up.  When she got there he was still asleep and snoring so she had to wait for him to get more awake.

Then his blood pressure got too low for them to release him and after a few other problems he had they finally released him around 4:30 this afternoon instead of the 1:30 scheduled time.  But thankfully his surgery went okay and he did get to go home today.                                                                                    The girls spent the afternoon playing inside as it has been pretty cool and windy all day even after the rain stopped.                                                                                                                                                  When daughter came in from work hubbie took her van up to the shop to change her motor oil and her transmission fluid and filters.                                                                                                                        After he finished she took IR and CA home and hubbie, RL and I came inside to watch the news.  #1 son and d-in-love came by to pick up RL and son looked good and was hungry so that was good.            Quite an ordeal to undergo on his birthday !!   39 years ago I had my first baby and 14 years later on this day I got my first grandchild as g-son was born.  We will celebrate later with g-son's favorite caramel cake that I have already made.

Hubbie and I got chores done then instead of our regular digging potatoes task this week we carried plants inside and prepared for the the first possible freezing temperature of the season.                              We covered these two raised beds that contain lettuce and other cold season vegetables which probably could take the temps but they will be better with a little protection.

I

I picked the remaining hot peppers from the plants that are left in the garden. These are the last summer vegetables remaining above ground.

The herb drying rack downstairs is now a winter greenhouse rack.

As the sunsets this evening we have things tucked away for the cold weather season and the feeling of the slow down that cold weather brings is a welcome feeing around here.

A comforting feeing that we have tucked everything inside and safely stored away for winter weather.

Still haven't been able to get my desktop computer to work so I am going to buy a new compatible monitor tomorrow to see if that helps.

Thankful for the blessings of this day and thankful for the protection for son during his surgery this morning and praying for his recovery.                                                                                                          God Bless and Good Night
