FIRST WEEK OF 2022 A GOOD ONE

This first week of 2022 has held some cold temperatures and our first dusting of snow for the season and the new year along with some high winds that blew tops out of pine trees and pine limbs all over the yard but thankfully nothing damaged.

I did a strange thing for January when I harvested all this row of broccoli and put it in the freezer. This row has been uncovered since we planted it but the temps have been so warm so far that the heads formed nicely.

We started out out new year as we always do with everyone here having our traditional New Year's lunch of ham hocks, collard greens, black eyed peas and cornbread to hopefully keep us healthy, lucky and wealthy during this year.  We had both babies on occasion to ease NP into her mom starting her new job on Monday and IR and CA were a great big help in keeping both babies entertained.

We passed around a short lived stomach virus which I caught but it only lasted a couple hours and wasn't too bad even during that time so that was good. Daughter and all three of her girls all had bouts of it.   RL started her rec league practice basketball team this week and seemed to really like it.

Hubbie and I got our last 2 roosters of the season harvested and I spent a lot of time this last week getting all the Christmas decor put away for another year.  The house seems so empty now but these electric candles that d-in-love got me for Christmas make the evenings feel so cozy with their real flame like lights.

We are getting ready to start another new phase of life when NP starts staying here with us while her mom  starts her MA career.   Each time we have the honor of keeping a new grandbaby it is exciting but it always makes for new scheduling and adjustments as we all get used to the new normal. Praying for this new transition to go smoothly and everyone make the adjustment happily.
Thankful for the love of our Heavenly Father as we go through this life which He has blessed us with.
Welcome 2022 ,  so far so good !!!
God Bless and Good Night
