DECEMBER 1959, 1969, 1979, 1989, 1999, and 2009 DECADE PICS

This will be a post solely of the decade pics from December's past in the xxx9 decades.
Beginning with the year 1959 with my Christmas presents and a friend of my Aunt Hattie's.

Moving on to December 1969 and my sophomore year playing basketball.

Fast forward 10 more years and in December 1979 on the 21st day I made the best decision I have ever made and married hubbie. Neither of us wanted a wedding so accompanied by my dad we went to the home of Buck Huntley the retired pastor that had married my mom and dad and said our vows. We spent our first Christmas together in the mobile home I had been living in.

Another fast forward to 1989 and our family had increased by 3 kids and our Christmas was hectic and memorable as hubbie and I were cub scout official for our local cub scout pack which both our boys were members of and we started the month off with our float in the Christmas parade in town.
We pulled the trailer with our 1985 Chevy Blazer.
We also had our scout banquet that month that we presided over.
We had a busy Christmas with 4 celebrations to attend starting with hubbie's family on Christmas eve.

We had an exciting Christmas morning as the kids opened their gifts with smiles on their faces.

Then it was off to hubbie's grannies for Christmas day lunch and more presents to be opened.

Back to my mom's house for Christmas night supper and more gifts with my family.

Daughter in that month.
Fast forward another 10 years and almost grown kids have smiles still for their gifts.

We also  didn't have as many celebrations and that year we hosted my brothers as my mom had passed away already.
Hubbie drove a school bus back then and kept it parked in our yard.
We also sold my mom's 1967 chevelle  ealier  that month to pay for Christmas and the man that bought it brought it by to show us how he had restored it.
With the passing of another 10 years we had a totally renewed appreciation of Christmas with the addition of our first grandchild.

That December was very interesting as we had a snowfall and a flood all in the course of a week.

Downtown looked really pretty with all the snow piled around the Christmas lights.
We also finished our sunroom construction in that month.

It was a month filled with Christmas fun.

The xxx9 decades were good years filled with fun and work and the love of our Lord in all that we did.
Good Bye xxx9's and welcome xxx0's as we move into another decade.

NEW YEARS EVE

Hubbie and I used today to make a trip to a local meat market that only sells fresh from the farm meats. Hickory Nut Gap Farm did not disappoint as we bought several cuts of fresh meats and were very happy with all of it.
We also found a little road side stand at Flying Cloud farm that had some fresh lettuce, turnips and sweet potatoes to help freshen up our diet with fresh winter foods.
It was beautiful drive over the mountain to these farms and we will definitely be making the trip again.
It was a nice day to end the 2019 year

G-son went to his church youth party tonight while his mom and dad went to a friends house for a while and RL stayed with us.

They were ready to go home and welcome in the new year when they left here.

Good Bye 2019 you held some valleys and peaks for our family but we are very thankful that Jesus Christ was always faithfully by our side as we climbed from the valleys to the peaks over and over.
This year's end brings more gratefulness to the Lord than any year in my recent memory as our little miracle baby CA is thriving and doing so well.

And we welcomed a new family member as #2 son made Tif his wife and she has been a blessing.

God Bless and Happy New Year
