CALM MONDAY AFTER THE STORM

Up to a different kind of Monday with the schools on a 2 hour delay . G-son and RL got here about 7:30 and I fixed them some waffles . Daughter and IR arrived about 10 minutes later and g-son decided he would go on to school with daughter and stay in her classroom until time to go to school.
I don't take RL to her pre-school on these shortened days because it isn't worth the drive there and back for only a couple hours.
I tried to get RL to lay back down with me as she acted like she was still sleepy but she wouldn't have any of that.
I did chores in the warm sunshine already this morning. Hopefully the mud will dry up quickly around my chicken pens.
RL had to come out and help me this morning and found some huge Morning Glories.
We came back inside and I had my breakfast  while RL had a tomato , one of her favorite foods right now since we still are getting them fresh from the garden.

RL was also my laundry helper this morning and pulled a stool up to the washer so she could put all the clothes in to wash.
We also cleaned up the playroom and picked up all the little things so IR could play in there with her .
After we all had lunch both girls took naps while I finished the last load of laundry and then hubbie and I both played with the girls when they woke up.
Today is another soccer game for g-son, this time at Flat Rock middle school. Flat Rock is another undefeated team and are supposed to be very good.
We arrived early in hopes g-son would get to play in a pre-game but Flat Rock didn't have enough players so there wasn't a pre-game.
The regular game was a very good game and Apple Valley won 3-1 defeating a very good team.
Daughter and d-in-love met us and the girls at the game.
RL has made friends with some other younger player siblings so she has a good time at the games.
The clouds look like they would rain on us any minute for awhile then it cleared up and this bright rainbow came out over the field.

Thankfully our area was spared any major damage and we were able to go on with our normal lives today. Sadly the same is not true for many of Florence's victims as flood waters continue to rise and folks are caught in limbo waiting for the waters to recede before they can even start picking up their lives. These are some pics from the internet of some damages from the storm.

Interstate 95 a major travel lane through eastern NC is closed due to flooding.
A lot of the closed roads are impassable once the flood waters recede due to sink holes forming under them.

We stayed near this place one year when we vacationed in the Outer Banks.
Crews from all over the country have come in to help in the rescues.
The death toll from this storm reached 23 today as another body of a 1 year old was located after the little boy had been ripped from his mothers arms as she tried to get out of floodwaters after driving around a baracade.
Praying tonight for all the victims families and asking God to comfort them as well as all the folks who have lost their homes.
I am humbly thankful tonight for my blessings as we seek to glorify God in all that we do. Also praying for Aa and Re and the kids in the coming days as some decisions affect all their lives.
God Bless and Good Night
