A PASTA SAUCE, PICKLED PEPPER KIND OF DAY

 I got chores done and had breakfast of oatmeal and fresh blackberries this morning before daughter came over with a box of Roma tomatoes she bought from the produce market that sells her cakes and breads for her. The Roma's were huge and looked really good. She also brought jars and ingredients for the pasta sauce that I make. She wanted to make her a run and d-in-love-Tif a run so it was going to be an "in the kitchen" type day.  D-in-love dropped off RL on the way to take g-son for his annual physical and when she came back she brought all the girls lunch from McDonalds.  While they ate lunch I went to the garden and picked the first little bit of okra. The Okra blooms are one of my favorite blooms in the garden, they are so pretty !!

While I was in the garden I decided to pick the hot banana peppers that were weighing the plants down. Hubbie came up to help and we were both dripping sweat by the time we picked almost a half bushel of the peppers.

It is hot and humid today and looks like storms are brewing .

Back inside I put these blueberries I picked last night in the freezer while daughter got the tomatoes washed and ready to blanch.

Daughter and I spent the afternoon until chores time turning 25 pounds of Roma tomatoes into 32 pints of pasta sauce.

                                                  

And the basket of hot peppers into 12 pints of pickled pepper rings and 2 quarts of refrigerator pickles.

IR and CA were really good all day while we worked even while hubbie went to the dentist this afternoon for his annual cleaning and check-up. They were good playing and entertained themselves really well. The only thing was CA didn't get her usual nap in today but conked out when they got home this evening.

Update on son-in-love, he still hasn't passed the stone and worked part of the day today but had to come home early with a headache on top of the kidney pain.

I got chores done and then had a nice visit with #1 son who came by .
