GOOD BYE OLD WILLOW TREE

Up early to get another busy week started with g-son and RL arriving to have breakfast. Hubbie took g-son to school and I got chores done.
We both drove RL to her pre-school and then came home to work on a tree cutting project we need to get done.
I had breakfast while hubbie gathered all the saws and tools. The old willow tree in the back yard is dieing and the big limb falling out of it yesterday with no warning made us think it is time to take the entire tree down because the main part of it will hit the house if it falls this way.
It was sad to see it go because it has been a fun climbing tree and a nice "bird" watching haven for many years.
I couldn't find when we exactly planted the tree but here it is in the January 1997 ice storm.
G-son always used this tree for escape from the dogs to eat his snacks.

Hubbie sawed all the dead limbs off it then cabled the main section to the tractor, sawed a notch in it and pulled it over away from anything and let it fall.

The back yard sure looks different without this old tree.
Daughter brought the girls over to watch and IR got a tractor driving lesson which she loved.

I picked up RL from pre-school and the girls had a little while to play in the new trailer playhouse before RL had to go to the doctor for her 4-year old check up.

She was "fit as a fiddle" and got ice cream to celebrate.
Daughter and her girls and hubbie and I made a trip to the pumpkin patch to pick out some decorations and for IR to pick out a pumpkin for her and pawpaw to carve.
 This one it is !!!!
Guarding it until mom gets the snippers to cut the vine loose.
We came home and had a late lunch and CA got her first time sitting in the bumbo seat but didn't sit in there long.
After they left to go home and get naps hubbie and I finished cleaning up the back yard and then got chores done.
We had a visit from my cousin Mike just as we were finishing chores .
There is a huge Hunter's moon tonight .

Glad you were able to get the tree down before it caused some real damage. A lot of trees in my area are dying and are being cut down. Such a shame. Blessings
