LEAP YEAR FEBRUARY ENDS WITH A SNOWY SURPRISE

Woke to an unexpected winter wonderland this morning to bring February to an end on this leap year Saturday. These first pictures were taken around 7am and snow was still falling pretty heavily.

We were wondering if market would even be open as the road below soon turned white.

By 8 am the snow had stopped falling and the sun was trying to come out.

We saw on the news that there was hardly any snow in downtown so we got chores done and got ready for market.
By the time we headed out to market at about 9:15  most of the snow was disappearing.

Some of the roads heading into town were still covered with snow.

Market was really slow today as expected but I am thankful for what we did sell.
If felt strange to be without kids at market today as daughter and son-in-love took Addie their niece to Clemson to watch a basketball game today and IR and CA's other g-ma came up to stay with them while they are gone.

Hubbie left market and made stops at Sam's Club and Walmart on his way home.
Unfortunate for one of our elderly men vendors fell outside and broke his thumb and bloodied his nose badly. He was taken to the hospital by one of the other vendors.
We all left at closing time and hadn't gotten an update on his condition.
I came home and we got things unloaded and then hubbie went back to his woodpile and I rested for a little while.
We got chores done in a cold 32 degree evening . We are thinking maybe all our lights and radio noise may have  worked because there were no fox pictures on the game camera from last night so we are doing the same thing again tonight.
We cleaned a path way out through our basement tonight to get my old washer out and get the new washer in when they bring the new one tomorrow.
Tomorrow was the only day in the next couple weeks that they had an open delivery day so we took it and will stay home in the morning to wait for the delivery call.
We watched a couple basketball games this evening UNC beat Syracuse and Virginia beat Duke.
Saying good-bye to February is bitter sweet for me as this is the last actual "winter" month of this season and although I am looking forward to spring growth and warmer temps I am sad that we haven't had at least one sledding snow fall for the kids and to help put extra minerals in the ground.
We can get snow in March but the chances get slimmer.
This month will go down in history for several reason.
For me it has been a busy month of getting all our taxes done and taking care of the grandkids along with going to market and doing all the regular activities.
We had a lot of inside days due to several light snows and a couple flooding rains but we are very thankful for the blessings from God on all our lives and looking forward to a new month of activities.
Thankful for the blessings of this day and praying the man who fell today is okay.
God Bless and Good Night
