Up to get things going on this Independence Day 2021. I got chores done and had breakfast then we started getting things going for lunch. We are having spaghetti , sauteed zuchinni squash , garlic toast and sweet tea. I cooked one of my last spaghetti squash from last year's garden for me and Re to have with the sauce. I'm not gluten free but just rather have a vegetable than pasta. Everyone made it to lunch and then we all had a nice visit after we ate. These two were decked out for the occasion.
#1 son's family, #2 son and Tif, and daughter and her family were all going to a friends farm this afternoon for a celebration with a lot of their high school friends. Aa's family went shopping and home to prepare for this evening's celebration there. Hubbie and I made potato salad, slaw, sweet tea and got ice cream made in the churn and ready to plug in when we got over to Aa's house.
We got chores done early and put the dogs up so they wouldn't be frightened by the fireworks tonight. We were the first to arrive at Aa's house and got the ice cream started. Aa had smoked a beef roast and boston butt and they were both delicious. Aa's dad and step mom, #1 son's family, d-in-love's mom and boyfriend joined us for a delicious meal and then fireworks. The kids had fun and g-son got to light all the fireworks this year. Thanks #1 son and Aa and g-son for another great show !!
Thankful for the blessings of this day and thankful for the freedoms we enjoy in this great country.
