BARN CLEAN OUT STARTED

Up to a strangely quiet house this morning. I am so used to hearing little voices every morning this summer is going to take some getting used to.  I got chores done and then had a leisurely breakfast. It is a rainy morning so hubbie and I are just chilling waiting for the light rain to pass through around lunchtime. Daughter brought me some peaches by and the girls wanted to stay longer but they both needed naps so they all went home.  Hubbie and I ate lunch then we went up to tackle the barn clean out that we have been putting off for several years. The hardest part of a job is getting started so we jumped in today to at least get past the hard part. We picked a corner and started going through each thing. We made piles of trash, donate, keep and relocate . I would have taken pics but there is so much stuff in the barn from years of collecting that pictures wouldn't anything but piles everywhere.  I will take pics when we get it cleaned out and organized. We moved thing into the back stalls and reminisced about what went on in these stalls back when we had milk cows and baby calves in these. Hubbie even remembered a bull we bought tearing the gate down to the back stall. We worked for over 4 hours and had hubbie's truck loaded with a dump load and covered ready for him to to haul it away in the morning.  We actually accomplished more than I expected proving that the dread of the job is much worse than the job itself.

We took a break and rested with some cold drinks and snacks before chore time.  RL and d-in-love-A came up to show d-in-love's new haircut. She hasn't cut her hair in about 3 years and today she went from this.

To this ........  Much nicer for the hot summer weather !!
RL stayed with daughter while she was gone and the  girls all had fun there.
After chores I finished fixing the net over the chicken tractor that I am moving the incubator pullets into and got it ready to move them in tonight.
I sat outside tonight with a jacket on in the evening that feels like fall temperatures have set in as we are supposed to get into the lower 50's tonight after being only in the low 70's today.   We moved the pullets and then came inside to relax for the evening.
Thankful for the blessings of this day.
God Bless and Good Night
