THANKFUL VETERAN'S DAY

A late morning felt good today as the clouds were thick and right after I got inside from getting chores done the rain started. We had breakfast then I did some ironing before we loaded up to get hubbie to the dentist. He is having a second filling put in a problem tooth after the first filling fell out. The dentist had to split his gums last time and he is really hoping he doesn't have to have that done again. I am driving him down there just in case he gets sick from the work. It rained all the way there and I dropped him off at the office about 10 minutes early. I made a quick run through a thrift shop down the street from the dentist then went back to the dentist parking lot and sat in the car to wait for him.  Thankfully he didn't get sick but they did split his gum again which doesn't make him happy because it takes a week to get the soreness out so he can eat without pain.

We headed back up the mountain in the rain and thankfully made it all the way into Henderson county before the traffic came to a standstill on the interstate. Luckily we were right at an exit so we drove the back way home.  We were both ready for lunch when we got home and had a warm bowl of chicken soup with grilled cheese sandwiches which hit the spot after a cold rain morning.  Hubbie built a fire downstairs to fend off the dampness of the day.  Late afternoon the rain stopped and daughter stopped by with the girls but only CA was awake and wanted to stay with us awhile.  She had some late lunch then sat with hubbie while we watched TV.    My friend Merle picked up a caramel cake to take to a dinner for a neighbor who lost her mother yesterday.   We had a nice visit then daughter came after the girls. Hubbie and I got chores done before the rain started again this evening.   We are resting this evening and thankfully I seem to be on the downside of this head cold I've been dealing with.

Thankful to all the brave folks who fight for our freedoms.

Thankful for all the blessings of this day and for the traveling mercies extended today as we drove through the rain.
God Bless and Good Night
