DAY LIGHT SAVINGS TIME ENDS AND FIRST FREEZE OF THE SEASON

I forgot to mention last night that this is the end of daylight savings time so we got an extra hour of sleep and I needed it as after the very active afternoon I had a hard time getting comfortable enough to get my knees, hips and feet all in position to not hurt so I really needed the extra time in bed.  I got chores done and had breakfast before starting lunch preparations. We are having potato soup and tortilla chicken soup that d-in-love is bringing. Hubbie made a cake of cornbread to go with the soup.  We listened to Don Wilton church this morning as usual and worshipped in our home with him.  We are very thankful this morning that we are healthy and happy as a family and we never take a single day for granted that brings this happiness.                                                                                                                  Everyone made it to lunch except son-in-love and we all enjoyed the soups.                                              After everyone left hubbie and I went out and finished cleaning up the covered patio and put away all the decorations from last night. It seems ashamed to only use them for one night but I am just grateful to have a reason to pull them all out and get to enjoy them for that one night.                                               We got .3 inch of rain last night which was very unexpected but today is nice and warm and sunny.  Tonight is bringing freezing temps so we are preparing to cover more of our winter garden  this afternoon. IR and CA came back this afternoon so that son-in-love and daughter could go to the hospital to see his mother who was admitted last night with a suspected stroke.  The girls helped with chores and with covering up the vegetables .

We dug up the couple sweet potato slips I planted in the bathtub beside the green house and got an amazing amount of really nice potatoes from them.

With the winds really getting up the temperature is dropping quickly out here.  We went back inside and had a quick supper before daughter and son-in-love got back . They weren't able to get in to see his mom after they were led to believe they would be able to earlier in the day.                                               They picked the girls up and went home and hubbie and I did a little more winterizing and then got an early bedtime.

Thankful for the blessings of this day.                                                                                                            God Bless and Good Night
