VERY STORMY DAY

Whew !!!!  I have wondered all day if I would be able to get on here tonight or night. Tropical storm Fred unleashed his fury on our area overnight and all day today with pouring rain, high winds, tornado warnings, thunder and lightening, massive flooding, power outages and you name it we got it.  Thankfully the girls and us stayed inside and safe all day, although they thought it was a very boring day !!

I got chores done before the heavy rains got here thankfully. I had breakfast with the girls then we spent a quiet day just watching the progression of the storm as it passed by us closer than anyone predicted.

Daughter lost power at her house so she and son-in-love came here after work and brought supper for us all. The heaviest rain happened between 5-6 this evening and it litterly poured .

Thankfully after we ate supper the heavy rain passed and we were able to get out and get chores done and look around for any damage. Thankfully we found minor damage around here, blown over bushes, washed away driveways and flooded pastures are a relief after the weather we have had today.

Water ran into the barn and hubbie and IR who was helping with chores had fun writing in a soaked bag of quickcrete.
Some of our close neighbors measured 10 inches of rain and I know we were close to that for a total as we had already received 2.25 inches and our gauge only goes to 6" and has a chip broken out of it and water was running out of the chip.

Meow Meow doesn't think much of this rain !!!
By the time we went up to shut the chickens up there was blue sky and the clouds were racing across the sky.

Daughter's power came back on around 8:00 tonight and we are very very thankful we had no serious damage as many other folks were not as lucky around us.
It will be with a prayerful, grateful heart that I will be going to bed tonight and I will be praying for all the victims of Fred.
Thankful ,grateful and blessed this evening.
God Bless and Good Night
