SOCCER SUNDAY

Ahhhh !!!!!  Slow Sunday mornings are my favorite day of the week. As I drag myself out of a restful slumber and out to get the chores done I am humbly grateful for another beautiful day.
We had breakfast and then put the new potatoes and corn on the cob on the stove to cook while we got ready for church.
Church was noticeably empty today with the absence of many women who are on a ladies retreat in Georgia.  The soccer players in church including g-son did a little announcement about VBS this summer to begin the service.

Hubbie had a short deacon's meeting right after church so #1 son waited for him so I could come on home and finish getting lunch ready. G-son rode home with me and d-in-love took RL home for a nap before the soccer game this afternoon.
Re and the kids and #1 son and g-son were our only guest for our lunch of roast beef, new boiled potatoes, green beans, corn and biscuits with jello for dessert.
After everyone left hubbie and I got ready to go watch g-son play his next to last soccer game of the season.
Daughter's family was also there to watch.
G-son played well but the other team was a much better team today and g-son's team lost their first game of the season to them.
G-son still played with intensity and looked like he still had fun.

Daughter and IR left the game with us and we went by Steve and Lynn's  house to get the baking supplies that she is selling to daughter as they are selling their house and leaving town.
We had the Honda packed full on the way back to daughter's apartment. She kept some of the candy making and bread making supplies and hubbie and I brought the rest of the stuff home and put it in the storage building.
I brought a small hand pie making machine in the house thinking I can use this to make little pies while my cakes are in the ovens as this is an electric pie maker.
It was chore time by the time we got things put away .
After we got inside we had a late supper and then relaxed for the rest of the evening.
#2 son spent the morning in the ER getting some lumps on his neck and head checked out . Turns out he has a bacterial skin infection on his head and his lymph nodes are swollen so he got antibiotics.
He left there and headed down to the lake to check his boat out after the long cold winter. It started right up and  he and Tif enjoyed a beautiful afternoon on the lake .

Thankful for the blessings of this day and the freedom to worship God with my church family.
God Bless and Good Night
