PREPARING FOR THE SNOW

At least its not raining yet this morning. Only g-son and RL are here today as IR and CA's other g-ma Connie is staying with them today at their house.
Hubbie took g-son to school and I got chores done then we both took RL to her pre-school.
After we dropped her off we headed to Fletcher to stock up on chicken feed. I also bought some early garden seeds beets, carrots, rutabagas, kale and lettuce for early planting. We are going to get some raised beds going for the root vegetables so it will be easier to keep insects out of them and easier to cover if the we have some cold spells after planting.
We stopped at Sam's Club on the way home and got groceries and dog food plus janitor supplies for market.
We made it home with enough time to start our house cleaning before we had lunch.
We stopped for lunch and watched the news on TV.
We finished the cleaning and then hubbie went outside to begin tearing out an old hay feeder from the fence line so that our blackberry patch can expand.
I worked on taxes and got daughter's finished and filed before it was time to head over to Aa's to get the chores done.
My original plan for this afternoon was to bake cakes for market but with the weather forecast now very confident that it is going to snow tomorrow I decided not to bake anything. That turned out to be a good decision because the schools are already closed tomorrow and market runs on the school schedule.
The snow totals have increased a little but the timing and temperature is still up in the air.
These local guys are pretty much in agreement tonight.
But this new Asheville weather map has us in 3-6 inches so guess we'll see what we get tomorrow.
This is not a normal storm for almost the entire state predicted to get some accumulating snowfall.
We got our chores done here and I emptied another 3/10ths inch of rain from the gauge with the overnight rains of last night.
Hubbie and I had a nice supper tonight of a couple rib-eye steaks from the Hickory Nut Gap fresh meat farms and they were so delicious. I just browned them in a cast iron pan on the stove then covered them and put them in the oven for about 15 minutes with butter and salt and pepper and they were perfect.
I had some riced cauliflower and mixed vegetables with mine and hubbie fried some potato wedges to go with his.
We rested and watched Survivor on TV tonight. I am usually icing cakes and getting paperwork done on Wednesday nights so it was a nice relaxing evening.
Thankful for the blessings of this day and praying for all the workers out on the roads tomorrow.
God Bless and Good Night
