EASTER AT MARKET AND A DOUBLE BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION

Before Easter market day started off with sunny warm temps but the wind is picking up pretty quickly this morning.
We got chores done and made it to market a few minutes early but there were no customers there yet to notice.
Daughter and IR came in right after we got set up.
The market looked very festive today with balloons marking all the Easter baskets filled with goodies for our customers.
We had our table all decorated and IR was loving the balloons !!!

Daughter and IR left to get down to her in-laws for their Easter celebration.Hubbie left to get home and get some yard work done in this nice weather.
I had a very good sales day and am very thankful for the business the Lord sent my way today.
I made a stop at Ingles on the way home to pick up things for tomorrow's Easter lunch.
Hubbie helped me get things put away when I got home and I wrapped birthday presents and got things loaded up for the double birthday party this evening. We did chores early and headed over to Aa's house to celebrate EL, who turns 5 years old today and AD, who turns 7 years old tomorrow.
There was plenty of good food and fun at the party.
AD wanted me to make her a chocolate lovers cake like I sell and EL wanted a vanilla with cherries cake that her mom made.

RL loves these girls and wants to be a part of everything they do.
There was also plenty present to open for the two of them.

We came home at 8:00 and shut the chickens up and then started getting the food ready for tomorrow's lunch. I made the 7 layer salad and deviled eggs tonight and put the large ham in the crock pot to cook all night.
We watched the news of the latest winter storm as we have made it all the way to the V this year with Violet.
We are not predicted to get anything but some cooler air from this storm about mid week but it will make it feel like winter is still with us for at least another night or two in the 30's !!
Well March came in like a cool rainy, windy lion and is going out with a nice warm sunny but windy lamb. This March has been a cool one with more winter weather this month than we had in February. We have had snow, rain, cold and it has definitely lived up to it's reputation for the March winds this year.
We celebrated 4 birthdays this month , began day light savings time and the Spring season.
#2 son and Tif moved into their new home , daughter, Tif  and I went to an antique show at the Ag Center and g-son began his spring soccer season with a couple victories so far.
I hatched my first batch of chicks this month and watched the first pretty colored flowers of early spring come and go.
It has been a quickly passing month as they all seem to be at this point in my life. Each day is filled with new excitement and fun and we are doing our best to live it to the best of our abilities.
Thankful for the love of Jesus Christ tonight and looking forward to celebrating His resurrection tomorrow with my church family.
God Bless and Good Night.

HECTIC GOOD FRIDAY

This Good Friday started off like every regular Friday with the arrival of both g-daughters as their mom's both had to work to make up one of the snow days at school today.
RL couldn't understand why she wasn't going to school because her per-school was closed and IR didn't want to take a morning nap for fear she would miss something RL did.
I got chores done a little late and then had breakfast while RL had a second helping of oatmeal from my bowl .
There was 3/10ths inch of rain in the gauge from last nights rain showers that arrived late.
I started baking cakes to hopefully get them all done before the furniture delivery at #2 son's house.
I baked 3 caramel, 3 chocolate, 1 coconut and 1 pound cake . 'Son-in-love who is off today came to pick up IR after running some errands this morning.
And just as I took the last cakes out of the ovens #2 son called and said the delivery would be between 11:30 and noon. It was 11:15 so hubbie, RL and I loaded up and headed across town to son's house.
When we arrived at 11:50 the delivery truck was already there and the Hispanic driver pointed at his watch and said 11:30 as hubbie walked up to the truck. It appeared he could not speak any English or understand anything we said so hubbie just unlocked the door and waited for them to carry the couch and love seat inside. The other Hispanic couldn't speak or understand English either ?????? They acted very agitated because we were late but got things done.
This was from Ashley Furniture a big dealer in our area and it is hard to believe they can send non English speaking workers out to do these deliveries because sometimes I would imagine there would need to be some communication.
RL had went to sleep on the ride up the mountain but she woke up as we were leaving so we stopped in town and had lunch . She devoured a cheese burger and some fries and even had a chicken nugget.
That ear infection medicine is surely making her feel much better quickly.

We came home and then on this beautiful day we headed outside for the afternoon. Still hungry RL had a pear and then played with Rocky.

There is so many of the petals from these Pear  blossom on the ground she kept saying it had snowed here. There are plenty blossom still on the tree, it looks like a bumper year of pears on this old Kiefer Pear tree.
After d-in-love picked RL up I sat on the front porch and thought how soon it would be that this view will be covered up with green leaves from all these still naked trees.
We have been communicating with #2 son and Tif all day and they have had a very interesting day. Tif's mail jeep quit running and she took the day off with #2 son to go buy a new one. This is the last year jeep is going to make the right hand driving jeeps for mail drivers and they are very hard to find.
Couple that with the fact that now Jeep is the only manufacturer that even makes the right hand drive vehicles and you have a shortage of the mail vehicles.
Tif had researched all around the area for one and had found one at a dealership in Virginia. She called them before they left for the 3 hour trip up there and they said they still had the jeep she wanted so they took off.
When son called me at 11:15 to tell me about the furniture delivery he said they were turning around because that dealership had just called Tif to say they had just sold that jeep ?????
She called a dealer in Alabama that also had one and they agreed to meet them 1/2 way between in Atlanta, Ga. to do the deal.
So they finally met up with that dealer at about 7:30 tonight. They and the dealer had trouble in heavy traffic that slowed them down.
She traded her 4-runner in for the jeep and will drive it as a regular vehicle .
They will get home about midnight if they don't hit a lot of traffic so I pray for traveling mercies for them.
We did chores then I iced cakes and got things ready for market tonight to finish up this very sad day in the life of all Christians as our Dear Savior Jesus Christ was brutally crucified on a cross.
Humbly thankful !!!!!
God Bless and Good Night.

MAUNDY THURSDAY AND 2008 MARCH PICS

Up to greet both g-daughters this market morning. They had breakfast while I did cores and got ready for market. They were both in pretty good moods this morning. RL complained at first with her belly hurt but after she ate something she didn't say anything else about that. We figured it was the stronger antibiotics causing the pain when her stomach got empty. she said she was a bucket head !!!

I dropped her off at her pre-school which she was happy to go to this morning. That shows she is already feeling better from her ear aches.
IR and I met hubbie at market. She bounced in her bouncy seat while we unloaded and got set up. We fed her breakfast and then Connie , other g-ma came to pick her up.
AD came to spend some time with us while Re went to EL's pre-school and helped with her Easter party.
Today was a slow sales day at market but I am thankful for all the things I did sell.
Hubbie left after helping Charles, another vendor get a sign put up behind his table.
He made our weekly dump /recycle center run and supply buying stop at Sam's Club on his way home. He spot mowed the lawn today with the push mower where the grass was really tall. The hens were very glad to help dispose of the grass clippings.
I made stops at the bank, PO and Ingles on the way home plus a stop at Pet Smart to check the price of the flea collars and drops I need for the season. I will be buying these items online !!!
I almost forgot a stop at Dollar Tree for Easter egg stuffings and had to turn around and go back when I was almost home.
I made it home at 4:30 and hubbie helped me get unloaded and get things put away.
Daughter brought IR here to stay with hubbie while we went over to a neighbors house to check out a Lularoe going out of business sale she was having. I found several things and daughter found a couple things  that I got for her birthday all for half price.
When we got home she took IR home and hubbie and I did chores.
The sky has really clouded up after a nice sunny warm day and it looks like the forecast rains could start at any minute.
#2 son and Tif came by to drop off a chair and table in the storage shed  from daughter's apartment after he took his old love seat there for her to use since his new furniture is coming tomorrow and they brought us a key to his house so we can meet the furniture delivery guys.
After they left we came inside for the evening. I sat and stuffed Easter eggs for the kids egg hunt on Sunday and for a small basket to take to market Saturday for the kids that come through market.
Market basket.......
Sunday egg hunt ........
This month is almost gone and I have one more decade post to make and that is March 2008. That was a very busy time not only for this little guy as he celebrated Easter......

And helped Pawpaw haul stuff around in their wheel barrows ......

But also #2 son had a very busy month with the preparation of his home site and taking delivery of his new modular home.

#1 son did all the grading work on the site.

This little supervisor said it is ready for the house.

It was a very exciting day when the crane arrived to set the house.

This is the house that #1 son's family now lives in and these pics really brought back a lot of memories of this time in the life of my family.
On this Maundy Thursday I am humbly and prayerfully thankful for the love of God and for His Son's sacrifice for the sins of all mankind giving us a path to the Father through our love for The Son.
Thankful Tonight.
God Bless and Good Night.
