NEW SHERIFF IN TOWN

Both girls arrived on time today and hubbie fed them breakfast while I did the chores.
Hubbie and IR rode with me to take RL to pre-school today. After we dropped her off we went by the church and voted.  Our county has a couple hot races going on including a very important sheriff's race.
One of the original deputies Lowell Griffin, that was fired by the current sheriff, Charles McDonald, when he took office back in 2012 has been working in Polk county for several years and is now running for sheriff. We are hoping Lowell wins the election because we feel like he will be better suited for the future of our county. We were happy to see a steady line of voters at the poles for this primary.
IR was all about the "I Voted" stickers !!

We came home to have my breakfast and hubbie fed IR her morning bottle.
While she napped I went down to my sewing shop and cut out 1 large, 1 medium and 1 small bonnet plus a large apron before it was time to leave to pick up RL.
I was leaving early enough to stop by Ingles and pick up some baking supplies before I pick her up.
And there was several road construction projects going on right now on roads between here and the church where her school is located.
When I got home about 20 minutes later than usual I told hubbie it was truly an adventurous drive right now with all the detours and stops.
Both girls napped through our lunch which was very nice and almost never happens.
IR woke up first and we fed her lunch of mashed potatoes and green beans and then her afternoon bottle.
We took her outside to play so RL could finish her nap.
When RL woke up IR was so happy to see her and wanted so badly to get out of her bouncy ring and follow RL everywhere she went.
RL loves her little cousin and wants to share with her but her corn on the cob was not something IR could enjoy right now.

Of course Pumpkin the cat can't escape RL love when she is outside.
We came inside and let the girls watch cartoons until their moms got here.
After they all left we watched the news and the weathermen said rain and storms might be headed our way so we got chores done a little early.
However we only received a short sprinkle of rain all evening.
For the second Tuesday night in a row I am baking cakes. Not because we are going anywhere tomorrow but because we have a baby free day since both girl's other g-mas are keeping them tomorrow after I take RL to pre-school and we are planning an outside work day. We hope to get our garden planted and a bunch of other stuff done outside.
I baked  3 caramels, 4 pound cakes, 1 blackberry wine and 1 pan of brownies and was finished by 10:30 tonight.
Daughter is trying her luck with sour dough bread. I hope it turns out good for her.
She already made some cute suckers to sell from Lynn's baking supplies she passed down to her.

I stayed up until we heard the election results and there will be a new sheriff in town !!!!  Lowell Griffin defeated the incumbent Charles McDonald by a significant margin and will take office in January since he is not opposed by any democrat in the final election.
Thankful for the blessings of this day in my life and for the grace of our Wonderful Savior.
God Bless and Good Night
