IKEA HERE WE COME

I have to ask God for forgivness first  thing this morning ! We are planning a road trip today and had to get an early start in order to get back before it got dark, so that means no church today for any of us. Daughter had enlisted a girl friend to teach her Sunday school class and Hubbie had done his deacon duties in advance of their meeting this afternoon.
D-in-love wanted to make this trip with us and had a picture taking engagement in Charlotte on this day so that is why we picked this day plus it is the best day for me right now.
After chores and breakfast we met up with daughter and a friend to head down the mountain.
That's daughter's jeep in the distance in front of us. D-in-love already left about an hour before us.
Her brother and his wife are riding with her.Hubbie and I are in his truck for hauling purposes.
Our destination ........
I was in awe when we got inside this place at all the merchandise, wow it was almost too much to process at one time. There were 2 floors, with the top floor being set up with different rooms of furniture and decorations. Everything had a number and aisle and bin location. All the stock was downstairs along with more pick-up-able merchandise such as dishes, rugs, curtains, etc,etc,etc... too much to list. Daughter had been here earlier in the summer,so he knew the process to buy things.

The crowds were huge, we stood in a long line to have lunch in their cafeteria.
Ikea originated in Sweden and we had Swedish meatballs for lunch. I wasn't impressed, they tasted the same as the meatballs I buy at Sam's Club.
I was also dissappointed at all the merchandise I saw that was made in China, not Sweden !!
Although much of the writing was swedish, making it interesting sometimes to get information.
All in all it was a good trip and the prices were good on most things and the quality looked good so I will definitely go back.
The main thing I got was a kitchen cart and a bunk bed for g-son's Christmas.
This is called a reversible bed because the bed can be on top with a play area beneath, which is what d-in-love is planning or you can flip it and have the bed on the bottom.
This is the advertisment pic of the bed as we are not putting it together until Christmas in his bedroom.
All the furniture is packed in flat boxes and requires extended assembly.
We finished our shopping at around 3:30 and headed home.

Clouds took over the sky on the way home and even though we made it home before 6:00 it was dark and chores required flashlights. But this wasn't the first time that has happened !!!
We got everything unloaded and everyone picked up their things we hauled home in the truck and then hubbie and I had a small salad for supper before we tackled some assembly work.

This is my kitchen cart, not exactly what I had in mind but it will do nicely and the price was good.

All my cake pans and more will fit on here nicely.
The main reason I said it wasn't exactly what I wanted was I would have like for it to have had 4 wheels, but we put these 2 handles on it that I found today that matched and some felt furniture movers on the 2 un-wheeled legs and it moves around fine.
I also bought several smaller things, daughter bought several pieces of furniture and d-in-love got a coffee table that looks really nice.
Hubbie and I are sleeping on new feather pillows tonight also !!
All this shopping wore me out and I am ready for a hot bath to ease my aching feet and knees and then a restful night's sleep on my new pillow !!
Daughter called earlier tonight and has a skunk outside her house, pewie I hope nothing spooks the little guy and causes him to spray !!!!
I'm glad God is such a loving, forgiving Father. I prayerfully thank Him for a save journey today.
Good Night and Gid Bless.

SOUNDS LIKE CHRISTMAS CAME EARLY AT ALL YOUR HOMES. I HAVE A TABLE JUST LIKE YOURS. MY 86 YEAR OLD FRIEND MOVED INTO A SENIOR APARTMENT WISH HOLDS JUST SO MUCH FURNITURE SO THE TABLE HAD TO GO. IT'S JUST LIKE BRAND NEW. SO WHEN SHE WANTED TO GET RID OF THE TABLE I TOOK IT.I LIKE THE IDEA OF PUTTING HANDLES ON EACH END. I THINK I'M GOING TO DO THE SAME THING.COPY CAT GRANNY

I love Ikea, we bought Nicolas' big boy bed there (not a toddler bed but an adult size single bed) and a closet for my clothes when I gave my dresser to Nicolas since Emilia took his :) Anyway, you're right the store is HUGE and it took 2 trips for me to be able to figure out what I wanted. Wish we had one closer.

I'm sure G-son will love his bed!!
