BASEMENT CLEANING DAY

A rare morning when both hubbie and I  fell back to sleep after the alarm was cut off and woke up almost an hour later than normal. Guess our bodies are trying to tell us something !!
We got the chores done on another 23 degree morning.
At least the sun is already shining today to help warm the animals up.
We had a late breakfast and then got to work. First we had to empty hubbie's truck of the last load we hauled yesterday and then we got started on our basement. We went through first getting all the boxes and bags that have just landed down there. It was amazing how mush just trash we had collected in there !!
Daughter came by and dropped off g-daughter IR while she ran to pick up a little wardrobe for g-daughter. She took my Honda Pilot so she would have room to haul it.
I had to bring IR upstairs when she started getting cold in the basement with the wood stove not going.
At noon hubbie had to stop and get ready to go to the funeral of his cousin's husband to be one of the pallbearers.
His brother picked him up and they headed up to Mountain Home Baptist church .
Daughter came back and the little wardrobe is really cute and will be nice for IR's little dresses.
Daughter didn't stay long as she is selling several items and had to make a couple deliveries on her way home.
I went back downstairs and worked until hubbie and his brother got back opening up a spot for daughter's washer and dryer. I couldn't figure out anymore ways to free up space so I vacuumed and called it a day !!!
Hubbie hauled one more load of things up to the barn and then he had to get the trash and recyclables ready for tomorrow's dump run.
I did chores a little early so the animals would have time to get their bellies full for the cold night ahead. Some of the coldest temps of the season are going to bring in the new year.
Pumpkin the cat loves his new warm and cozy bed that Tif's dog out grew !!!

It felt good to get outside chores finished and get in the warm house tonight. Hubbie picked some of our fresh Kale greens and fixed them for a quick light supper tonight.
I did weekly paperwork and got things ready for market.
On a sad note today g-son's injured tortoise died and he was very sad. Hopefully the company d-in-love ordered him from will honor their promise and send another one.

I am tired once again tonight but have that same accomplished feeling tonight after getting all the work done that we had planned today.
Thankful for the blessings of this day and praying for hubbie's cousin's family in the loss of their husband, father and grandfather.
God Bless, Happy New Year and Good Night.
