GOOD FAMILY SUNDAY

Another lazy morning since church is canceled today due to no power at the church.
It is very cold this morning at 19 degrees but thank goodness for that beautiful clear blue sky today.

While I was doing the chores #2 son was up and out early and arrived with a load of things to put in the barn and helped hubbie set up a dog lot we have for Tif's Australian Shepherd that is going to stay with us while they live in the apartment they have rented.
I came inside while they worked and put chicken breasts in the pressure cooker and started getting the house cleaned up for lunch with everyone.
We had everyone here today except Tif who was working and son-in-love who was at the gym.
Hubbie took the chicken from the pressure pot and put it on the grill to finish cooking and it was very good. We also had mashed potatoes, green beans, corn, glazed carrots and Re brought over some delicious broccoli salad.
I made snow cream to go with chocolate cake for dessert and the kids loved it.
While the adults had a nice visit the little ones played well together.

G-son was overseeing all the little ones patiently watching.
After everyone left hubbie and I took his truck and went up to #2 son's house to haul a load of furniture to store in our storage shed .
He left to get Rocky the dog that is going to stay with us . Rocky is a big beautiful male Aussie and is very friendly.

We are going to have to see how him and Flash get along before he can spend much time out of his pen.
We finished evening chores and then came inside for a quiet evening. As I walked my little trail through the snow to get from the barn to the chicken coops the thought hit me that we are already marred in icy snow paths and it is not even winter yet !!!  It is only the first of December and I am already feeling the fatigue of dealing with the cold and slipping around on the snow on the ground.

All this snow was associated with the 2nd named winter storm of the season, Benji, unfortunately 3 people lost their lives because of this storm as it moved from the gulf coast to the northeast coast leaving record cold and snowfall amounts in it's path.

We have several limbs down around the yard but that is the extent of our damage that we have found so far.
Thankful to God for sparing us any damage and praying for all the folks who did have damage and lost loved ones during this storm.
Thankful for the blessings of this day.
God Bless and Good Night

The kids looked like they were having fun. Glad your damage from the storm was minimal. I know how you feel about the early snow. We are having it here also and I too am already weary of winter. Always afraid I will fall and break a bone. Blessings
