GOOD MARKET SALES AND 1987 BUSY CHRISTMAS

Up and out to do the chores on another cold morning with iced over water pans in all the animal pens.
We made it to market on time and sales were great today. I had  10 cakes already boxed for orders and got calls shortly after I got to market for 9 more which made for a good day plus all the other things I sold off the table.
I am very thankful for days like today because I know this time of year they are surely numbered.
After market I made a stop at Ingles for roast beef for tomorrow's lunch and came home.
Hubbie had been helping #2 son move things again today. Thankfully son feels much better today and they were able to get the house emptied out.
I went up to help clean out the kitchen cabinets and make a final look around to make sure they had gotten everything out. He and hubbie loaded a big dog house son made onto a trailer and we brought that here along with his boat.
When Tif gets home from work they will make a final walk through and will be officially moved into their apartment.
Hubbie and I got home just about chore time and got things done before darkness caught us.
We spent a relaxing Saturday evening.
Back in December 1987 it was anything but relaxing as our life with three small kids was very full and exciting. Back then both our mothers were living plus hubbie's grandmother Ila and  hubbie's dad we had to make Christmas gatherings with each one of these great ladies with all the kids.
First stop was Christmas eve dinner and present openings at hubbie's parents house with his bother's family.

Home late and into bed to let those sugarplums dance in their heads while hubbie and I stayed up into the wee hours getting things just perfect for Christmas morning.

After the gifts were all opened and breakfast was eaten we all jumped in the car and drove up on Sugarloaf Mountain to hubbie's grandmother Ila's house. There was always plenty of delicious food at her house and all the cousins had fun together.

After lunch and more present opening we got a short rest break back home before heading up to my mom, Goldie's house . She always just fixed snacks as she said there was no use fixing another big meal with her house being the last stop for both my brothers and my family on Christmas day.

As you can tell we had a busy exciting time back then at Christmas and some years it was trying to get to everyone's house but those are surely some of the best memories of all so I am thankful that we made all those visits.
Very thankful for the Reason for this Season and for the greatest Gift ever given.
God Bless and Good Night
