BIRTHDAY PARTY FRIDAY

Up to get this day started as usual, breakfast for the grands, chores, took RL to pre-school, had my breakfast and then we decided to do a morning of thrift shopping which we both enjoy before picking up RL.
IR was great during our shopping and we found some things that we couldn't live without so it was a successful morning.
After we got RL and both girls had chicken nuggets for lunch we stopped by the Johnson family fruit stand on the way home for corn , cucumbers , zuchinni squash and probably the last watermelon of the season.
Both girls slept all the way home and RL stayed asleep after hubbie carried them inside but IR woke up and wouldn't go back to sleep.
The three of us had lunch and then I started my baking. RL woke up just as I was getting things carried up so hubbie took both girls in the living room and they watched TV while I worked.
I baked 6 caramel and 6 pound cakes. I was just finishing when the girls where leaving.
Hubbie and I got chores done early so we could attend CO's 5th birthday party.
She enjoyed the pizza, cake and presents very much and everyone had a great time .

News from the coast isn't good but thankfully Florence was downgraded to a category 1 before it slammed into Wilmington,NC early this morning but there was still much damage and several folks killed in the aftermath of the storm.

The large storm is practically stalled and drifting around 3mph toward Myrtle Beach, SC which is causing major flooding concerns all along both Carolina coasts.

Hubbie cleaned our gutters and started the generator to make sure it worked so we are as prepared as we can get for what looks like a direct hit as the low pressure system moves over us on Saturday and Sunday .

We drove by daughter's house site on the way home from the party this evening and they have got some of her foundation blocks layed  this week.

The clouds are arriving creating a beautiful colorful sunset.

I spent the evening icing cakes and getting things ready for market tomorrow.
Thankful for the blessings of this day and praying for a situation that is unfolding now that only God can fix.
