SWINGING SUNDAY

Ahhhhh !!!! Extra sleep on Sunday morning feels so good. After chores I walked around to the front of the house to look out over the bottoms and thought , wow,  what a difference a week makes.
Last week we along with many others were feeling the wrath of hurricane Florence.
I am humbly thankful that we are clear and dry today unlike many others that suffered from this storm who are still under water. And this unbelievable picture is from the NC DOT showing dead fish all along I-40 after the flood waters that marooned the city of Wilmington receded to quickly for the fish to keep up.

Church was pretty stressful today as a special prayer was said over Re and her family as we all surrounded her and many tears were shed on her behalf. Praying that we can all find comfort and peace in our faith in the Lord in the coming days and know that He is ultimately in control.
After church we all came here for a lunch of beef stew , corn on the cob and corn bread.
The kids all enjoyed swinging after lunch. #2 son was a good "pusher".

Daughter and son-in-love came late and they and hubbie and #2 son went to haul a couch she had bought from a friend up to #2 son's house to store it for her.
Re took the kids home for naps and #1 son's family went home . IR and I stayed here and she took a nap while I watched TV.
Unfortunately the couch wouldn't fit through #2 son's door in his extra bedroom. They left it in his garage and she is going to sell the couches she has now and go ahead and move it into their apartment.
Daughter and son-in-love ate when they got back then they went home.
Hubbie and I took shovels down to scoop the fallen apples from the driveway ditch and "ouch" one of the yellow jackets didn't like me taking away all his sweet apple juice !!! Toes are very sensitive areas !!!
Seems these yellow jackets are really mean this time of year. Hubbie got stung yesterday while weed eating around the storage building .
Hubbie and I finished this job and then got chores done and relaxed for the evening.
Other weather news for this month is the high temperatures of all but 2 days of this month so far. If this coming week doesn't drop the average this September will be the hottest on record for our area.
There was another Atlantic tropical system named today as Leslie came to life in the northern part not expecting to cause any problems.
Another glimpse tonight into the sky as I finished shutting up all the chickens gave me another wonderful view of the almost full "corn" moon.

Prayers are coveted tonight for all the family as this week marches forward with some big changes coming at the end. I am humbly thankful tonight for my faith and the knowledge that even as we don't understand the "whys" of things here on this earth as Christians we just have to exercise our unquestioning Faith and know that God's Will will be done and His plan is so much greater than any we could ever imagine. He is with us always. My prayers are that the younger generations whose faith isn't matured yet can understand and accept these changes with surprising grace.
God Bless and Good Night
