FLORENCE HEADED DIRECTLY FOR US

Up to get the day started with the grandkids this morning. Thankfully the thunder that woke me up this morning around 2am didn't leave but less than 2/10ths inch of rain in the gauge and the sun is shining this morning.
After chores I walked around the farm and snapped pictures of all our buildings and the house . All the insurance companies are encouraging folks in the path of Florence to do this for insurance purposes. I don't think ours will get blown away or flooded but trees could certainly take any of them out if we get high winds.  We are praying this doesn't happen.
The path of the hurricane has taken a drastic change today and we seem to now be right in the center of it as it makes a turn to the north and this track puts us on the dangerous side of the storm with all the wind and rain.

I took RL to pre-school and then made a stop at Ingles for baking supplies and groceries and wow even this early in the morning there was plenty of shoppers in there clearing the shelves.
I came home and had breakfast then got my baking started. I baked 6 caramel, 3 chocolate, 5 pound, 1 blackberry wine cake before having a late lunch with hubbie and IR who has been really good this morning to go along with hubbie in the stroller while he cleaned up some ditches around the yard.
She took about a 45 minute nap and then BB came in while Re went to a meeting.  He played while I got things ready to go to g-son's home soccer game.
We got there and the sun was really beating down on the bleachers where we had to sit but I know it was really hot on the players on the field also.
They played well and beat Hendersonville Middle school 3-2 to remain undefeated.

G-son said knew a lot of these boys on the opposing team from him playing on the same team with them in rec ball.
Everyone made it to the game even #1 and #2 son came to cheer g-son's team on.
We all got burned up in the hot sunshine and they carried three boys off the field with what looked like leg cramps, hopefully that was all it was.
After the game we came home and got the chores done and then I did weekly paperwork and then iced cakes and got things ready for market.
The world equestrian games started in Tryon last night with their opening ceremony and horses from 70 countries are here to compete. This weather is going to play havoc on these games as one of the more prominent events , the endurance 100 mile race has already been canceled because of the extreme heat and humidity in the area.

Thankful for the blessings of this day.
God Bless and Good Night
