RAIN RAIN AND MORE RAIN

Amen......

Rain, rain and more rain.  We got to sleep in a little this morning since the schools are closed today in recognition of Veterans Day. I got chores done in a very cold rain with the temperature at 34 degrees.
Daughter brought IR over to stay while she had basketball practice so hubbie and I had breakfast with IR.
She was in a good mood this morning and seemed to have gotten over her cough over the weekend.
I got weekly laundry started then did my walking video. Talked to #2 son and sis-in-law Sandy on the phone planning our family get together meal while getting 2 loads of laundry washed and dried this morning.
Daughter came in and had lunch with us and then took IR home for a nap while she tried to get some power forms filled out for her new house.
Hubbie needs to replace the motor on his wood splitter and Harbor Freight has the one he wanted to use so even in a steady rain we drove to Asheville to pick the motor up then came home through Fletcher and picked up chicken feed.
As we came in the house when we got home I snapped this pic of a very dreary wet day.
Hubbie and I both took advantage of the couple hours before chore time we had to stoke up the fire in the wood stove to get the house really warm and then we napped while watching TV.
The rain started to pick up later in the afternoon so we decided to get chores done before the heaviest rain got here. All the chickens were already in their houses so I just gathered the few eggs they had laid and shut their doors.  It still feels bone chilling cold out in the rain although it has warmed up to 40 this evening. I emptied 2 inches of rain from the gauge before I came inside. The creek is licking the bank tops but no flood watches have been issued.
This evening we hunkered down and listened to the rain while watchin UNC win a basketball game over Stanford then headed to an early bedtime.
Thankful for the blessings of this day and the love of Jesus Christ.
God Bless and Good Night.
