JUNE GARDEN AND A SICK RL

Up to greet the g-girls this morning and get this busy Friday started. RL didn't feel good this morning and was hard to deal with but finally settled down and watched some cartoons with IR.
The clouds look like they may win the battle today.
I got chores done and then started baking my cakes. Tomorrow is Old Timey Day at the Curb market and I am baking some extra in hopes of a very good selling day.
I baked 12 caramel, 2 chocolate, 4 pound, 1 blackberry, 2 blueberry and 1 pan of brownies and then had a late lunch with the girls. RL was still feeling pretty bad but had some mac and cheese for lunch.
She went down for a nap shortly after lunch. I took IR outside to push her around in the stroller in hopes of getting her to take a nap.
We checked out the June 1st garden.

Our potatoes look good but have smaller vines than in the past couple years. They are just starting to bloom so hopefully it will dry up so the bees can do their jobs and we will have potatoes.
The cucumbers are also starting to bloom.
The Blueberry bushes are loaded and look to be doing fine.
The grapes are a different story as grapes typically prefer drier weather than we have had and the little bunches of grapes look pretty sparce.
The Blackberries are just starting to bloom so we will be hoping for a break in the rain for them also.
This Kiefer pear tree is loaded this year and the rain and wind probably did it a favor of thinning some of the weaker fruit from the branches.
A few flowering bushes are just putting out their pretty blooms now. This Kousa Dogwood isn't as loaded with blooms as usual but it is still very pretty.
My Oakleaf Hydrangia that hubbie trims and trims to keep it out of the driveway is loaded with big blossoms.
Two loan Rose blooms that were protected by the roof eaves are all that is left of my roses except for the scattered petals all over the ground.
The Stella Dora daylilies are really pretty.

The Lambs Ear looks a little damp this year.
My flower bed is doing pretty well along with other potted flowers.

This patch of Lemon Balm in this bed needs trimming already.  I use these trimmings around he house to keep the ants out and it works well and makes the rooms smell wonderful.
IR wasn't having a nap even with the long walk so I turned her over to hubbie to be pushed in the swing and came back inside to make some croutons from a couple loaves of daughter's sour dough bread that didn't sell Thursday.
I sliced the bread and then cubed it into a large bowl..
I mixed these ingredients in and stirred the bread cubes until each one was coated then spread them on baking sheets .

I baked them in a 400 degree oven for 15 minutes, turning them once to get golden brown.
Just as I sat the last pan out to cool RL woke up crying. She just wanted me to hold her and she said her ear was hurting. I called her mom who came after her and took her to the doctor. Sure enough she has an ear infection.
G-son stayed here while she was at the doctor and he loved the homemade croutons !!!!
Her dad picked up her medicine and she felt so bad she took it all by herself so she would feel better.
Then she had mac and cheese again for supper with watermelon for dessert and looked like she was already feeling better after a dose of Tylenol for the ear pain.
Hubbie finally got the lawn mowed on this non-rainy evening.
I did evening chores and spent the rest of the evening icing cakes and getting things ready for market.
Thankful for the blessings of this day and saying a prayer for RL hoping she gets better quickly.
God Bless and Good Night
