I got chores done and then started baking while hubbie pushed IR around outside in her stroller to try to get her to take a nap. Daughter said she got up at 3am and stayed awake for an hour so she is ill and sleepy.
I baked 6 caramel, 2 chocolate, 6 pound cakes and 1 pan of brownies.
IR refused a nap and she just watched TV until lunch time.
Daughter got off work on her last school day of this year just after noon and came after her. She is running some errands on the way to the closing on her land this afternoon so IR will nap while she does these.
After they left the dark skies opened up and the rain poured down turning our yard into a river.
There was thunder and lightening and wind to go along with the pouring rain making it a rough afternoon.
One storm moved through but was quickly followed by another one of the same intensity of pouring rain but less thunder and lightening thankfully.
We have been needing rain and we surely got more than enough today !!!
Hubbie noticed one of our down spouts was stopped up shooting water four feet into the air so he put on a raincoat and fixed that in the pouring rain.
Once the rain slacked off enough to get out and get chores done there was 2 inches in the rain gauge and a light rain was still falling.
Sadly the scalded bottom pastures were just starting to get some green coming back into them and now they are standing full of water once again.
I spent the evening icing cakes and getting things ready for market.
Thankful for little damage during the storm today and for the blessings of the day.
