After a dose of Nyquil last night I slept very well and my throat isn't as sore this morning thankfully.
Hubbie and I both were awakened in the early morning with pouring rain. Hubbie got up and shut our windows and I went back to sleep.
We got up and I got chores done in a break in the heavier rain. We had chicken breast cooked in the crockpot overnight so we boiled some potatoes and corn on the cob to go with it for lunch and left them sitting on the stove while we went to church.
Our intern at the Bible college, Kyle preached today and did a very good job.
We came home and put the chicken in the oven with BBQ sauce on it and fixed green beans and biscuits to go with the potatoes and corn.
#2 son and Aa and the kids were our only guest today but we had a nice visit.
The rain started falling heavily again just after they all left and hubbie and I just hunkered down to ride out the severe storms headed our way.
The first line of severe storms were over about 4:00 and daughter picked up hubbie to go with her and IR to Sam's Club. Daughter doesn't have a Sam's Card so she usually meets hubbie there to get her groceries.
When they got back hubbie and I did chores early to beat the next line of storms headed for us. I dumped 2.7 inches from the gauge and the bottoms are starting to flood with the rising creek waters.
After we finished our chores we headed down to #1 son's house to take care of their chickens and dog while they are away in Tennessee.
The storm clouds look really threatening this evening as the sun's last rays stream through them.
We came home and had a bowl of chicken soup for supper then were watching American Idol when a tornado warning for our area ran across the screen.
This cone shows this storm heading right for our area.
Aa's family came over to ride out the storm with us in case we needed our basement. They live in a doublewide on the crest of a hill so they don't take any chances.
Daughter and son-in-love were on their way to come over here also but thankfully the storm weakened quickly and they stayed home.
We are very thankful that our area was spared the power outages and really high winds. We had flooding and pretty strong winds but didn't loose our power or have any major damage.
After Aa's family left hubbie and I watched more TV then headed to bed thankfully with the storms now all past our area.
Thankful for the blessings of this day and very thankful for being spared from any major storm damage.
God Bless and Good Night
