GROUNDHOG SAYS 6 MORE WEEKS OF WINTER

I'm suppose to come out and what ???????????

What's that dark thing following me around ???  I don't know what all the excitement is all about !!!!
6 more weeks of winter !!!!  Now let me get back to bed !!!!!!

                                                  HAPPY   GROUNDHOG    DAY    2012

After a doze of Nyquil last night I slept soundly all night but it took a little while this morning to shake off the fog I woke up in. My system is so sensitive that  any kind of medicine has a very intense effect on me.
As the fog lifted I did chores and had breakfast as something in my stomach would help clear my head.
Actually I don't feel that bad this morning so maybe I'm on the downhill side of this cold.
I went into town to run the weekly errands and take care of weekly business.
I made it home for lunch and the weather is so nice I had to take a break and sit outside in the warm sunshine for a while. I almost went to sleep out there it felt so good.
I needed to clean out the large brooder house as I have decided to let some Silky hens set so I will have chicks ready to sell in March. After I got that one cleaned out, I spread last years chicken compost on the garden before starting a new compost heap with what I cleaned out today.
I decided to go ahead and clean out both hen houses as well since it is so nice today. Usually I leave the houses dirty through the cold months because the chicken manure generates heat for them at night. But with no really cold weather in sight I decided to go ahead and clean them out.
I moved one of the setters into the clean brooder house and the other jumped up and ran so if she goes back on the nest I'll try moving her again tomorrow. I don't have enough eggs to put under them yet.
I came back inside and relaxed awhile this afternoon to do some bird watching. Here are some of the pics I took as my feathered friends had dinner.

Titmice are regular visitors.

Black-capped Chickadees are quick movers.

Can't wait until these Goldfinches get their bright summer color.

If you enlarge this Cardinal picture you can see his lady Cardinal keeping her eye on him.
He looks like he is posing.

These little Downy woodpeckers come to the feeders each day. I saw their bigger cousin the Hairy woodpecker the other day but didn't get a picture.

Last but not least is this Red-Bellied woodpecker beauty.
After chores tonight I hit the couch again and had no appetite for supper so I just snacked a little and rested.
The temperature today was 60 degrees but tonight is supposed to be the coldest night of the week with 29 degrees by morning.
God is always beside me in all that I do and I love the way He watches over all His children.
Good Night and God Bless.

Hope you feel better soon.

We treasure every cup of the chicken gold...the garden loves it after the heat is gone.
