A RAINY TRAVEL DAY

Yuck, got up to pouring rain this morning to finish loading the van in. Thankfully we did get most of our stuff loaded last night.
After we all had breakfast we headed uptown to a little cafe to buy a thank you gift card for daughter's friend who owns the house and let us stay there as her guest.
As we went back to the house to drop it off the rain picked up in intensity and we were desperately hoping we weren't going to have to drive in it for long.
For several hours we drove in and out of rain bands some very heavy some not so heavy. We almost witnessed one accident in a heavy rain from a driver who apparently wasn't paying attention as traffic slowed. Fortunately he ran off in the emergency lane until he got slowed down. He was pulling a long horse trailer and I just knew it would jack knife when he slammed the brakes on. He was very lucky.
Other than that our trip was uneventful thanks to the Lord for watching over us.
With all the rain slowed driving and about an hour stop for lunch we made it home at 4:00 after leaving at 10:30 this morning.
G-son was still pooped out from the last 2 days of fun in the surf.
I always love to see these mountains after being away even for a couple days. They are like a breath of fresh air.
We got unpacked and got things put away before g-son's mom and dad got here from Asheville to pick him up.
I spent the rest of the evening getting things back in order while hubbie picked in the garden.
Back to the grind tomorrow as I have tomatoes coming out of my ears !!!
It is good to be safely back at home tonight and I'm looking forward to sleeping in my own bed tonight.
Grateful to the Lord for a safe travel day and for all the blessings He gives me each day.
Good Night and God Bless.
