SOCCER VICTORY IN THE RAIN AND 1997 MAY

Yuck , I feel pretty cruddy this morning as I rolled out of bed with a dizzy head. I shook the cob webs out and did chores in a pouring rain, which isn't going to help my sore throat !!! There was already 1 & 1/2 inches of rain in the gauge that I dumped out.
Back inside I had a bowl of oatmeal thinking that would make me feel better but it didn't. All I wanted to do was go back to bed , so that's what I did !!
Hubbie went on to church and I slept the entire morning away.
I woke up just before he and #1 son's family came in for lunch of a crock pot full of beef stew and corn bread muffins.
I ate lunch and felt a little better.
G-son had his last soccer game today and I so wanted to go but they were going to play in the pouring rain so I decided that wouldn't be a good place for me.
His team won the game to put them in first place and he played awesome mostly at the goalie position. Playing in the rain was fun for these young boys !!!! Thanks to d-in-love for the pics.

I pretty much spent the afternoon on the couch watching the rain outside and hoping to rest whatever is wrong with me away !!
Thankfully the hard rain stopped before chore time tonight and I emptied another 2 inches from the gauge at chore time bringing the total since last night to 3 & 1/2 inches !!
Hopefully we will have a rain free overnight and tomorrow before more heavy rain and storms move back in for Tuesday and Wednesday.
Back in May of 1997 we were in baseball mode with both boys playing on the same team at Berkley Park.
#1 son bats.....
#2 son pitches......

And here is #1 son and me at the Curb Market behind my booth that month.
I was just sewing crafts back then and hadn't started baking yet but the craft business was pretty good at that time.
With a sore throat and now starting to cough my head off I am headed to an early bedtime. Hoping the dose of Nyquil helps more tonight than it did last night !!!
Thankful for the blessings of this day as I know the day was filled with them even if I didn't recognize them all.
God Bless and Good Night

Congrats to g-son and his team on their win yesterday. Sure hope you start feeling better soon. Alka Seltzer makes some very good cough and cold products. We use them when we get sick. Praying for a speedy recovery for you.
