DAY ONE OF VBS 2019

Up to get a ham in the oven and get corn and potatoes cooking for lunch. I got chores done and had breakfast then we took the ham from the oven and put it in the pressure pot to keep warm while we went to church. The last time we cooked a ham in the oven and left it in the oven to keep warm it dried out so we are trying this method today.
Church was good today as we added 4 new members , all the glory to God.
The sanctuary was all decorated for VBS which starts tonight.

We came home to the ham which was delicious kept this way , corn on the cob, fried squash, mashed potatoes, green beans, biscuits and sliced cucumbers and tomatoes with #1 son's family and Aa's family.
We had a nice visit and then it ended abruptly when BB threw a toy and hit our TV and cracked the screen. This is the second TV the kids have cracked in the last 3 years !!!  This time thankfully it isn't that bad and we are just going to keep it in case one of the other kids decides to throw something at it again !!!
Hubbie and I relaxed for a while and watched a storm pass close but only dropped a sprinkle of rain on us.
I watered all my potted plants and then got my clippers out and cleaned out some of my flower beds that are getting overgrown again. It is so humid that I was pouring sweat just doing this at a slow pace.
I came inside and cooled down a few minutes then got chores done.
Hubbie worked some in the garden and helped me clean up all the weeds and vines I cut out .
We came inside and then a heavy rain thunder storm came through that left 1/2 inch in the gauge.
Thankfully it was after VBS ended and from the pics it looks like all the kids had a great time. There were 97 kids there tonight.
Daughter went and took IR who is in the same class as RL so they had a fun.

Music was IR's favorite activity.

G-son and his large youth group had fun , g-son is in the dark burgundy shirt.

EL was the Bible holder during opening ceremonies tonight and did a great job.

BB had a good time also.
Even little CA went along with daughter and slept through most of the evening.
D-in-love is teaching the 3rd graders and she had a big class tonight.
#1 son, in the grey shirt, was a part of the security team.
A great end to a perfect Sunday.
Thankful for the blessings of this day and praying that all these kids in VBS learn all about the love Jesus has for each of them this week.
God Bless and Good Night
