OUT OF ICU

Slept much better last night and we loaded all our things up in the Honda this morning before heading to the hospital.

We grabbed breakfast on our way up to the icu unit. Son-in-love and IR were still sleeping at the Ronald Mc Donald house so we both went on into her room with daughter as 3 people can be in the icu room at a time.
Hubbie went back down and got daughter some oatmeal for breakfast and brought it back up.
In a little while son-in-love brought IR over and hubbie and I took her up to the 12th floor outside garden to let her run a while.

It was really hot up there as the sun was hitting that side of the hospital in the morning so we came back inside and she wanted something to eat so we went down to the lobby and got her some mac and cheese which she loved.
We hung out around the hospital waiting for them to get CA transferred to the 8th floor into her own room and finally about 2:00 they rolled her up with us following.
The room up here is about the same size as the icu room but it has a pull out couch bed so daughter can sleep more comfortably. All the tubes are gone now except the drainage tube in her chest and the arterial line in her neck. She still has all the monitors hooked up. She is eating pretty good from her bottle.

It started raining late afternoon so we watched the rain and wind out the window which entertained IR for a while. At least we can all be together in this room with CA now as there are no age limitations or number of people limits in these rooms.
We waited until all the storms had passed before we headed home with IR. She hugged her mom and dad good bye and acted like she was glad to be getting out of the hospital and going to Neena and Pawpaw's house. It is really a blessing that she goes with us without a fuss.
We got caught in heavy traffic even at 6:30 and drove 40MPH all the way from Charlotte to Gastonia then it opened up and we had no trouble all the way home. It was lightly raining on the mountain coming up to Hendersonville but didn't slow us down much. We stopped at Ingles to pick up some groceries and made it home a little before 9:00.
We were all tired and after we got the car unloaded IR watched a little TV and then said she wanted a bath. We were afraid she would be up awhile after her nap most of the way home but she got her bath and settled in bed with hubbie and they were both snoring by the time I finished my bath.

Thankful for traveling mercies tonight and thanking God whole heartedly tonight for the miraculous surgery and recovery for CA.
God Bless and Good Night
