BEEF PICK UP DAY

Up to a very busy day.
I got chores done and was able to grab a pack of cheese crackers to go with a hurried cup of coffee before daughter, Addie, CA and I headed out to get our 1/4 beef we had bought from one of daughter's friends who lives in Morganton,NC.
The meat processor we are picking it up from is located in Marion ,NC so we are headed  down the mountain through Bat Cave. Hubbie hates this very curvy road so he stayed home and kept RL and IR.
RL's other g-ma is having trouble with her blood pressure so she is staying home today and relaxing.
CA was not a happy traveler on the way down the mountain but finally went to sleep and slept the rest of the trip.
It takes about an hour to get to the processor this way compared to a couple hours going to get on the interstate so that is why we choose to come this way.
It is a nice beautiful drive with very little traffic which I like also.
We arrived at the processors and picked up the meat easily in the 2 large coolers we had brought along. It was a lot of meat. The whole hanging weight of the beef was 750 lbs and we got a quarter to split with daughter so we were surprised at how much beef it actually was.
It was cut different than we used to have out beef cut years ago but that was partly our fault for not getting with the processor personally.
After we left the processors we found a nice fesh produce stand and bought a lot of vegetables and fruit for the week.
We also made a stop at McDonalds to get lunch for Addie who had been a really good traveler and the girls waiting at home.
We headed back up the curvy mountain road this time and made it home without any problems thankfully.
We got the girls set up with their lunch and got the meat divided and our half in our freezer then I went over to daughter's with her and got hers in her freezer.
We came back home and got the girls all ready to go swimming at d-in-love's pool. It is a nice overcast day for a swim in the cool water.

Hubbie and I left daughter and the girls and ran out to Sam's Club to pick up our curbside order. They just started this yesterday and certainly have a lot of kinks to work out of their system because we got there at 3:00 and were the only car in all the spaces. But after checking in on the app per the instructions we waited and waited . After multiple calls and more waiting and then more cars starting to fill the rest of the curbside pickup spaces an employee came out with one of the other cars order that had gotten there about 15 minutes later than us  we finally got our order. A total time of 1 hour and 10 minutes later we left with our order. They surely are going to need to improve their customer service in this area.
At least all the items we ordered were there.
We came back to d-in-love's where the girls were now out of the pool and swinging on the swing set.
We stayed until everyone got home from work and then came home.
We watched the early news and then got chores done.
There is a couple more bloomers that I saw this evening.
The Hosta's planted around one of the hen lots are starting to bloom.
And these Day Lilies are putting on a show this year.
After we got chores done we gleaned in the garden and picked some zuchinni squash for lunch tomorrow.
#1 son came up to borrow a sprinkler for some sod he laid on his lawn.
Hubbie and I relaxed for the evening, getting ready for another busy day tomorrow.
Thankful for the traveling mercies extended to us this morning and all the other blessings of this day.
God Bless and Good Night
