FATHER'S DAY 2020

Slow Sunday mornings are the best around here. After chores and breakfast I put a ham in the oven and hubbie made the half cabbage we had left from the soup I made last week into coleslaw.
I went up to the garden and gathered some Kale greens while a dozen eggs boiled on the stove.
Since this is father's day everyone is coming for lunch so we are having some extra things.
We listened to Pastor Don Wilton on TV and I long for one of our local churches to follow his lead of having the service outside so we can attend church again. It is proven to be very risky to go inside a church sanctuary and sit for an hour breathing the same air as everyone else at the service so none of our family has attended church service since the covid shutdown in March and we miss it. We always listen online but it isn't the same as being there in person.
We had boiled new potatoes, corn , green beans and biscuits to go with the deviled eggs, coleslaw, kale greens and ham for a very good lunch.
IR got to open another birthday present from uncle D and aunt Tif.

She loved her new soccer goal.
All the kids wanted to have ice cream for dessert outside and then they got to swing and play while the adults had a nice visit.

After everyone left hubbie and I moved the incubator chicks out of the small brooder box on the porch to a bigger brooder box in the silkie . They will be 4 weeks old this Wednesday and I was planning the move then but they were very crowded and it got up to 88 degrees in the smaller box today so it was time to make the move. They are fully feathered and will do fine with no heat light now .

By shutting this piece of plexi glass over the opening at night they will stay plenty warm in here.
We worked a little in the garden pulling more weeds for the chickens and tying up more tomato plants.
We rested for the evening as we watched a pretty bad thunder storm pass us by leaving us only 1/10th inch in the gauge but thankful we didn't receive the hail and wind some folks did.
Thankful for the blessings of this day and happy Father's Day to hubbie , #1 son, son-in-love and Aa and all the other dads out there in blogger land. I hope you all had a wonderful day and feel loved.
God Bless and Good Night

I agree with you about it not being the same when you only can listen to a church service. My church has re-opened but with social distancing and sanitation practices. Chairs are placed 6 feet apart with only families being allowed to sit together. The sam goes for going up for communion - no kneeling at the communion rail and 6 feet apart in line. Masks are optional and no touching. So far so good.
