HIKE ON BEARWALLOW MOUNTAIN AND PHOTO SESSION ON JUMP OFF ROCK

Up earlier this Sunday morning to get chores done and then grab a good breakfast before we head out on a hike up Bearwallow mountain today. The weather definitely feels like fall this morning at 43 degrees but it is a beautiful day.

Feels strange to all of a sudden be getting out long pants, sweatshirts and jackets.                              Son-in-love, daughter and the girls picked us up at 10:00 and Re and her kids followed us up to the mountain. It was a great hike and the kids loved it especially CA and IR who got to ride all the way to the top.

It was a pretty steep hike up the narrow trail and there was a lot of water so there was some slick spots we really had to be careful on but we made it even the long line of steep steps at the very top.

The view from the top was awesome and well worth the long pull up the steep trail.

The kids had a ball and were so excited to be able to run around . And it felt so good to be outside just enjoying the fresh cool crisp air.

We took the road back down because I didn't think I could maneuver the steep steps back down with my bad knee. There was some beauty along this road also as this waterfall cascaded over the side of the mountain into a man made watering trough for the cattle that roam around up here freely.    Some friends of ours, the Lyda family, own all this land and have put it in a land conservancy program so it cannot be developed and they still farm it.

We made it back to the cars a little after lunchtime and decided to stop by a friends BBQ truck on the way home to pick up lunch.  Everyone came here to eat and have a nice rest from our long hike .     After everyone left hubbie went up to his shop and I put away some laundry and then we rested until time to get chores done early again this evening so we could go with daughter and her family to help with the kids in getting some family photos made.  We went up to Jump Off Rock to do this on the other side of town.  The girls did a great job, especially IR who really hammed it up for the photographer.

The views from up here are really pretty also.

We came home and hubbie and I rested for the evening.                                                                                  Thankful for the blessings of this day and for the health to do what we did today.   Also thankful for traveling mercies for a safe trip home for #1 son's family.                                                                         God Bless and Good Night
