RECORD HURRICANE SEASON

Monday morning and up to greet RL this morning. I got chores done and had to navigate through deepening mud without slipping down so it seemed to take twice as long.   Back inside I had breakfast with RL and then while she went outside with hubbie I got weekly laundry started.                                    Something killed one of RL's chickens last night or early this morning and they went down to her house to see if they could figure out what happened. Hubbie thinks it was an owl probably just before roosting time last night as only the head and neck had been eaten and the hen was already stiff so it has been dead probably overnight.                                                                                                                      When they came back up we cleaned up some toys that had been laying around for a while then we sat outside for little while and she ate her popsicle reward for helping with the clean up.                                RL has to find things to do when she is alone here and "Meow Meow" is always glad to have her undivided attention.

We had lunch a little later while I did more laundry and put towels away from last week.                             It is a really nice day so far and we decided to go outside and do some yardwork. I need to get some tall weeds cut down off our asparagus patch and blackberry patch so I cut them down and hubbe and IR drug them off to the brush pile. We worked until the rain started sprinkling and then came inside to cool down.   The sun was shining brightly when we went out to work and we ended up getting ran inside by rain not even an hour later !!!!                                                                                                                      After more laundry we loaded up to go by our insurance office which luckily is right beside the Ingles grocery store that I meet cake customers at and I also had a cake  to deliver this afternoon.                      RL went to sleep while riding so we met up with her mom at daughter's house and she was immediately awake and ready to play with IR. I made a cake delivery for daughter and then we came home to get chores done.                                                                                                                                                      Thankfully we got them all done and was back inside before a light rain started falling.  We listened to the hurricane news of the second time in history that there are 5 named storms in the Atlantic Ocean.

The one we are concerned with is Sally which now is a cat 2 storm and making it's way slowly toward out area.    They are predicting our area will receive between 3 to 6 inches of rain and that couple with the 3 inches we just had this past weekend plus a cold front coming through mid week bringing more rain will make things very interesting around here.

We have one more name left and then it's into the Greek alphabet.
This was the weekend we were planning our beach trip for the season but it too is a casualty of the summer of 2020 along with alot of other things we normally get to do.                                                       We had a restful evening and thankful for all the blessings of this day.                                                            God Bless and Good Night
