VETERANS DAY 2012

Please take time today to thank someone you know who has fought for the freedom of our great country.
As these brave men and women volunteer to protect our freedom rights they sacrifice their families and their very lives in foreign wars far away from home for months at a time. Some face devastating injuries and hardships when they get home along with wartime memories that sometimes are not very pleasant.
Today is one day of the year set aside to honor these great people for what they have done.

My father-in-law served in the navy in WW11. Daughter has his uniforms and awards and is framing them to hang on the wall in her house.
Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for the sacrifices you made.

We had a short recognition service at church this morning. Our pastor was in the coast guard for several years and I am always surprised at how many veterans we have in our church congregation.

We had lunch with everyone here today. #2 son is painting some at his house and wanted to finish this afternoon so we didn't haul any more furniture today.  #1 son changed the oil in both his vehicles this afternoon up at his and hubbie's shop. Daughter who isn't feeling well from a nasty head cold went home to bake 2 pies for her youth group at church tonight and then rest. Hubbie finished staking the trees down on the highway , that blew over during the wind a couple weeks ago . I made a 7-layer salad to take over to the family Thanksgiving service tonight then cut some things out in my sewing shop.
After chores hubbie and I went over to the Mustang restaurant, owned by sis-in-law's niece, where we always have our family get together for Thanksgiving. We didn't have the number of folks there that we usually have but it was a nice visit for those who made it. #1 son was the only one of my kids that made it tonight. G-son had kids choir practice for their Christmas program so d-in-love went with him, daughter had youth at church and #2 son was still painting in his house. Hubbie's brother was sick and didn't make it either.
Hubbie and I came home to relax for the evening.
Grateful tonight for our Veterans and most of all for the protection of my Lord.
Good Night and God Bless.
